I was at my local videostore today and saw that it had one copy of a movie on Dvd left, the movie was called Kangaroo Jack. I considered this to be one of the most hated movies of 2003. After Watching it i cannot see why it is hated. I actually liked it. Sure the plot isn't really anything but this is a kids movie, so who cares. From it's two good leads and a cool looking CGI kangaroo i had a fun time. I laughed at certain parts and enjoyed it's silly humor. Although the kangaroo was not in the movie all i wanted him to be, every scene he poped up in was enjoyable. Jerry O'Connell and Anthony Anderson are good as are two lead charcthers and their chemistry is great. Estella Warren is also good (and looks hot) as our female lead. Also Chrispother Walken puts up in a intersating cameo. Not as bad as everyone suggests, this is a fast paced 89 minute ride. Fun for the whole Family!

haha..this movie cracks me up. I saw it in theaters and particially enjoyed so i decided to rent it with a couple of pals. This is some really dumb stuff, but man is it funny. But i think u gotta be an idiot to like it. fuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyy

Well besides the A) ridiculous looking CGI kangaroo in a gay jacket with sunglasses B) a non existant plot C) crap people and D) unenjoyable film going it looks to be crap!

Well Christopher Walkens is in it and Estella Warren is HOT. I've also always liked Jerry O'Connell and Cradle 2 the Grave has also made me like Anthony Anderson.

However, all of this doesn't change the fact that this movie looks like SHIT!

The reason is because it looks like shit, and when you think a movie looks like shit, you usually don't end up seeing it because it doesn't interest you and most people don't like shit. I thought it looked terrible too, but in between the time it was in theaters and released on video, my hatred for it lessened, and I decided to give it a rent. To my surprise, it wasn't bad. I still can't say I blame people for not wanting to see it, because it didn't look very good at all. Why would someone see a movie they thought looked terrible? I know I usually don't see something I think looks terrible. If people saw EVERYTHING, even movies they thought looked really bad, then they wouldn't have time to watch some truly good films. People can usually tell what they will like, and if you don't think you'll like something, why bother wasting your time?


Anyway:

KANGAROO JACK - 7/10 (B-)

This was pretty surprising. It's honestly not bad for what it is, not bad at all. It's an entertaining little family adventure/comedy. It gets more shit than it deserves, and I'll admit, I'm guilty of making fun of it too, but now that I've seen it, I'll say that I was wrong about it. It wasn't nearly as bad as it looked.

I will never see this movie because I have to pay money to see it. Maybe I'll watch it late at night on HBO someday, but there's not chance I'll rent it. Unless they give it to me. Free.

Well, even though it does look like shit, as a student of cinema and the movie lover in me I will give this movie a shot. Some day. Probably not for awhile as there are too many movies I want to see more. But eventually, I will see it.
