Well...?
I vote the Extended Edition.
NOTE: Please don't vote if you haven't seen both versions.

Extended Edition. You learn more about the characters, the pace is better despite the extra half hour, and the extra 30 minutes really add a lot to the movie, in more ways than simply how long you sit down

Extended Edition!!!
Theatrical cut, which in itself is too long.

The extended cut, how else can you like the theatrical (besides the shorter length?) The characters are more fleshed out, the mission is clearer, and there are funnier and better scenes added to enhance an already awesome movie.

The Extended Edition by far. It adds, if possible, more substance to the films, and everything is pieced together in a more cohesive manner.

The Extended Edition for sure. It just adds more awesomeness to an already awesome movie.

Depends on tastes. If you want to kill more than half a day, then the theatrical cut it out the door. If however, you like both for totally different reasons (supplements), why not get both? But I'd have to say Extended Cut as well.

Exactly what she said.

*SPOILERS*
I especially loved the ending dialogue between the Strider and the dying Boromir having additions, it's a heartbreakingly beautifully written scene.

I imagine that if you're a fan of the book, the extended version is superior.
It could've been twice as long and I wouldn't have cared.

The extended version.
It felt like I was watching a whole new movie, and my eyes were opened up to even more extraordinary sights previously unseen.

The Extended Version builds tremendously on what was already a masterpiece. I loved everything they added and none of it was a waste of time or film. Can't wait for the TTT Extended!:D

The extended cut is FAR better in my opinion... I think Jackson wanted this to be the theatrical version had it not been so long. It explains much more and I think it flows a bit better. I don't find these movies to be too long at all, I appreciate the time and detail and thought put into them. Let's not forget how long this story is to begin with, there's a lot that's actaully cut out of these movies.

Ok, I've never read any of the books and must say that I enjoyed the Extended Edition much more due to the fact that some of those scenes really add more depth into the movie. Example, Bilbo's speal on Hobbits. I love that!
I can't wait for The Two Tower's Extended Edition to come out. I'm all over it! :)

Extended Edition, for already mentioned reasons. I'd like to hear reasons for picking the shorter version, if there are those who liked it better and didn't hate the thing.
