....on your list of all time villans in movies?

Not sure exactly where, but he's at least shot up to top 3 on my all time list.

The makeup and costume was downright intimidating. Very impressive. Right up there with Darth Vader.

Thade's character development was HUGE compared to most villans. I like villans that have a purpose rather than Mike Myers poke at the truth, "...the details of my life are inconse-quen-tial!"

No, Thade had depth in his character and was just intimidating to watch on the screen. They weren't even afraid to show his weaknesses once trapped. I'm counting on a sequel for his return alone.

Actually Dr. Evil is one of my favorite villains. Mr. Glass from unbreakable is right up there too.

But my favorite is probably Jack Nicholsan's Joker from the first Batman.

but back to the topic. TIm Roth was amazing as Thade, but I need to watch it POTA again before I rank him ahead of these people. He probably is in my top 10 though just behind Darth Vader.

As much as I loved Tim Roth, he hardly approaches Dr Zais...I mean calculating it all, there's Darh Vader, Dracula, Hannibal Lector, Magneto, Catwoman, Commudus, Hans Gruber, Dr No, Dr Evil, Goldfinger, the guy from Aliens, the T1000, The Stay Puff Marshmellow Man...Thade simply had his work cut out for him

... If only they had avoided the whole romantic angle between him and Ari.... alas, it didn't happen.

Your all forgetting Patrick Bateman from American Psycho! I thought Christian Bale did an outstanding job in that movie.

I'd have to put General Thade in the same rank as Dr. Hannibal Lector.

While I like General Thade, he probably doesn't crack my top 20 favorite villians.

General Thade is the villian to what movie? I ask because the name sounds familiar but I can't remember from what movie.

The movie is PLANET OF THE APES, unless you were being sarcastic.

I'd rank him somewhere in the middle of the pack as far as villains go. He was too ignorant and just not mean enough. It was like he was confused, plus he was doing what he did because he loved his father and wanted to preserve their family name. If you ask me, a villain has to be an asshole for the sake of being an asshole. his function is to be as hurtful and destructive as possible in the course of the plot. My brain is atrophies from lack of use, so I can't think of any great ones right now, but I bet Quentin knows a few.
