Filmjerk.com is reporting that the upcoming action blockbuster action/comedy Bad Boys II has a running time of 150 minutes. Rather surprising considering the type of film it is, and it is both longer than Reloaded and Hulk. I wonder if audiences can handle Martin and Will for 2 and a half hours.

Martin Lawrence for 2 1/2 hours?

I've heard this from another source too, and I can't believe that it is this long. But it's not too surprising, considering Michael Bay is notorious for having long films (Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, The Rock). Even the first "Bad Boys" was two hours.

Damn, that's a long action comedy. It's only 17 minutes shorter than Gangs of New York and that seemed long itself. 2 1/2 hrs. is much too long for this type of film. T3 has a much more realistic running time for an action film at 109 minutes. I bet that Bad Boys II drags at points because of its insanely long length.

I'm supportive of this. I'm tired of 90 minute action movies with 3-4 medium action scenes, then fade to black. At least with this movie, you know you're getting your money's worth

I agree. That's one thing Michael Bay does right, whether his movie are good or not is up to the individual, but he knows we're tired of spending $8 for a ticket and going in to see a movie that ends almost as soon as it begins.

But on the other end, I'm nut supportive of derivative action films that try to be more than what they actually are: derivative action films. Hince movies that are too long for their own good. And Bad Boys 2 looks like such a movie. I really fail to see how they could drag that story out to about 2 and a half hours.

Martin Lawrence is good in small doses, but 150 minutes of him? Scary.

National Security was pretty much all the Martin Lawrence I can handle for this year.

Wow... Alot of Martin Lawrence bashing. Guess I'm the only one who likes the guy and thinks he's really funny. :(

Loved the guy since the first Bad Boys.

But on topic, I'm glad to hear the movie is gonna be this long. More for me to enjoy :)

He was admittedly funny for his first 15 minutes of fame. But his "da white man is stupid" jokes and other crap is getting tired and repetitive. The man needs to get new material, or take what he has and make it better. I mean damn, has there been any movie he's starred in where he wasn't a wisecracking sidekick or token-black guy in some buddy-cop/action comedy movie?

I think the film looks amazingly kickass with some uber-cool action sequences, and hilarious comic jokes. I liked the first one, and it looks like they could do some cool stuff with this one. 150 does seem long, so lets hope they pull it off well. We still have some time, so you never know they could have some test screenings and they might shorten it.

At first I thought 150 minutes of Bad Boys II sounded a little intimidating but the more I've thought about it the more I've warmed up to it. I've always thought that the movie looks awesome to begin with and now I'm thinking I would like to have 2 and a half hours of it to sit back and enjoy. The trailers make it look like it has a lot of different set pieces anyway, just the Klu Klux Klan and car chase sequences alone look pretty extensive.

Martin Lawrence + 150min = "Where's my gun?"

Dug the first movie, but that was before Wil got a REALLY big head, and Martin hadn't played Martin in every movie.

150 minutes does seem a bit long for the kind of action comedy Bad Boys II is. But you could probably argue that for Armageddon and The Rock and some other Jerry Bruckheimer movies. And I've enjoyed nearly all of them. So I'm not worried about it.

"Marge, get me my gun..."

Seriously though, that's fuckin' long. Very few movies should be that long, IMO, especially not fuckin' Bad Boys II, which is bound to be one of this summer's most craptacular events. Michael Bay sucks.

Totally agree. On another note, I'm getting sick of buddy cop movies. Am I the only one?

I think I can tolerate 150 mins of Martin Lawrence (I'm one of the fortunate souls that hasn't been subject to torture... er National Security sorry :p). The movie looks great, action sequences look kickass and I'll be checking it out for sure, regardless of running time.

If a movie costs me $10 (Which it does where I live) I had better be entertained, or else I'll be unhappy. I refuse to pay $10 for a piece of trash like Dumb and Dumberer whihc has a short running time. Bad Boys 2 looks absolutely terrible, but it's better than paying full price for less than 90 minutes.

If movies' running time is short (Darkness Falls, The One, X-Men) people say their money is being stolen! If a film is 130-150 minutes people start complaining it's too ling! Duh!

But, honestly, what would they stuff the film with to make it 150 minutes? I love both Lawrence and Smith but....
Beter wait and see!

Tell me about that. I'm especially tired of watching Martin Lawrence as a cop: Bad Boys, Big Momma's House, National Security and now Bad Boys II. The man [i]is[/b] somehow funny but he should try different roles if he doesn't want his movies to stick in the region of $30-40M grossers.

*is 'grosser' a word in English?* :p

Yes, 150 minutes is long, but I think I'll be able to handle it. Anyway, I digged the first "Bad Boys" film, and I also like the team of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Therefore, I"m looking forward to seeing "Bad Boys II"... it should be a good time.

Bad Boys along with The Rock are the only Michael Bay movies that I can stumach, from what I have seen Bad Boys II looks like it should actually be a decent flick the 150 minute running time does seem a bit long though especially for a cop action/comedy flick.

I don't think 150 minutes is a good signal. Too long for a suposedly unbrained action film, they'll have to make a really interesting plot to keep the audience entertained, or either they'll have to make the most long action sequences of history.

Hope they cut it to 130, which is as long as it can afford, IMO. Anyway, i'll probably see this one. If it sucks, at least it won't be 75 minutes like MIB2 and my wasted money will be less wasted (the difference between waste 7 cents/minute and 3 cents/minute :))

Bad Boys 2 looks like an action/comedy masterpiece. I'm glad I'll be getting my money's worth.
