I thought I would start this off. As the producers were saying, "If the T3 is sucessful, T4 will probally be a go"
Also seeming that JoBlo closed the T3 long running thread.
So, most of you Terminator Fans out there know this by now, the film has had excellent reviews and is about to be on the way to taking over the box office via good word of mouth. (Opposite of Hulk).
Here is a poster for you Invincible!

If u seen Terminator 3 then you will see that its pointless in a way because of how the movie ends. But you could still make T4, i guess only that it will have to take place in the future where John Coner is The leader. Thats all i can say with out spoiling T3.

well, Since I grew up w/ The movie the Terminator & my belief's in sequels that surpass a third installment unless it is warranted. I think T3 should be the finale to the series. Unless WB makes bank from its 170 million budget they might assemble #4, who knows.

"Jonathan cracked the script and established the right balance of action, storytelling and comedic balance," Borman said. "The picture needs legs -- a second and third weekend -- and Jonathan has given us that chance. A fourth film will be more difficult, but the story opens the door for another and we'll do one as soon as is feasible. We'd like Jonathan back -- if he hasn't gotten too expensive."

Arnie has announced that he has no plans to return to the series.
Quite frankly, it's just as well. He's getting a bit old for the part. It worked in T3, as it was made clear that the T-800 series is growing obsolete at that point. I think a story about the future war could stand up without the Oak, provided it had a good cast (and script).

Way back when before T3 was announced, I had my own weird little vision for what would happen, and now that T3 has come and the war is on, maybe my idea isn't so far-fetched. In a nutshell, here's what I thought of:
John Connor starts leading the human resistance, and his group's first big coup is taking down a human labor camp (as described by Reese in T1). Naturally, two Terminators are sent back in time; one to protect John, and the other to assassinate him. However, what the good guys don't quite realize is, Skynet somehow got wise to John's true family heritage, so the new Terminator is not after John, but rather one of the labor camp prisoners he just freed - a young Kyle Reese (ah, a plot twist)!
The only problem, I don't know how they're gonna top the T-X. That bitch was stylin'! But on that note, since Arnie has said he won't be back (hyuk hyuk), perhaps the "protector" Terminator could be a reprogrammed T-X. Just a thought.

if T4 is a go, they would have to include ALL the characters being: Kyle Reese, T-800, T-X, T-1000 because they were all sent from THAT future to protect or kill John COnner. Thus they'd have to be there for them to get sent back.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has ruled out the possibility of starring in a fourth Terminator film - because he fears it would have to be called "Terminator in a Wheelchair." The musclebound star has just started promoting the third installment of the hit sci-fi action series, Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines - and the physical effects of completing the high-octane sequences has left the 55-year-old reluctant to batter his body once more. He explains, "When I do a stunt 30 times over and over, I feel my muscles hurt the next day." The Austrian born star, who is attempting to now launch a political career, feels that he deserves his massive $30 million pay packet for the film - because the film studio's who pay him will make even more money themselves when the movie is released next month. He says, "The studios wouldn't offer that much money, if they didn't see a real chance to make profit at the end of the day."

After seeing T3 end the way it did, aren't you the least bit curious about what comes next for T4??? I know I am. In fact, this is why I told Invincible I did not want to see T3. Because some part of me knew that it was going to end like that. I knew that (good or bad) this movie was just going to be an opening to the Future War of T4. It had to happen this way. And now, after seeing and loving part three, I HAVE TO WATCH T4!!!

So what's the best way to get ahold of you?
(And in order to sorta keep on topic...who should be cast in T4? I have to say I was surprised to see Clare Danes in T3.)
Weapon X
07-05-2003, 04:19 PM
Well, both Stahl and Danes are obligated by contract to do T4. Personally, Kristanna Loken gets my vote to return as T-X.
As for who would play the lead Terminator...in case Arnold doesn't return of course...With a little buffing up, I think Kiefer Sutherland could make a fine Terminator, or perhaps Michael Jai White (Spawn) as the first black Terminator. Or, if you wanted that huge European look that Arnold made classic, you could go with Ralf Moeller, that giant musclebound dude from Gladiator.
If they do go for a new lead, here's a concept that came to me this morning: During the raid on the Skynet complex in 2029, the Human Resistance finds an unknown, one-of-a-kind model of Terminator. An intermediate model between Arnold's T-800 and Robert Patrick's T-1000, a "T-900" let's call it. It was an experimental version of the T-1000's liquid metal, but the end result was essentially a T-800 with a flexible, moldable endoskeleton that couldn't transform to the extent that the T-1000 could. Skynet considered the model a failure and put it in cold storage. The Resistance discovers it, gives it its new mission, and sends it through time after a second T-X is sent back to again try and kill John Connor.
Or, perhaps this: The Resistance discovers the Terminator assembly line along with the machines that create the T-1000 series. It's from that machine that the T-1000's mission is programmed, and once programmed, it can't be undone (I imagine it would be pretty damn hard to reprogram liquid metal). So the Resistance creates a T-1000 programmed to protect Connor. That way we can have our T-1000 vs. T-X battle that we all know will kick some major ass.
But that's just me.

Spoilers******
I dont know I took the ending a little different than others so it doesnt seem like the series needs another, it ended very bad yet good and just enough to end the series on a good note with John accepting the future, but you did hear Arnold say "We will meet again, Real Soon" so who knows what the future of the terminator holds for us. If Arnold doesnt do a fourth maybe they can have Robert Patrick or Loken be the good guys.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is set to bring in some healthy numbers at the box office this weekend, so what does producer Mario Kassar have to say about possible future installments?
He tells Empire magazine, "If this one's successful, then of course we'll think about Number 4. And then maybe Number 5 and Number 6. We have some ideas already, but you're not going to get them out of me today."

From: DarkHorizons.com (http://www.darkhorizons.com/news.htm)
"Terminator 3 & Alien 5: James Cameron recently talked with BBC1 and revealed he's very happy with how Terminator 3 ended up: "In one word : Great. There was a small part of me that hoped it wasn't good - but another part of me hope'd it succeeded. And it did. And I'm so glad it did. Jonathon's made a great movie. Arnold's in great form. I really like what he's done with it". If he had done it, would he have handled it differently: "Yes. That's only natural. I mightn't have structrued it the same, nor may I have ended it the same way - but coming in where he has, such a hard thing to do, and I give Jonathan points for it".
This isn't a man whose going to whitewash his opinion either, take for example his reaction to "Alien 3" - "Hated it. Simple as that. I hated what they did.... I couldn't stand Alien 3 - how they could just go in there and kill off all these great characters we introduced in aliens, and the correlation between mother and daughter. It stunk, but hopefully I'll get a chance to rectify all that". You mean the talk about him being tied to "Alien 5" is true? "To an extent. yes. We're looking at doing another one. Something similiar to what we did with Aliens. A bunch of great characters, and of course Sigourney. I've even discussed the possibility of putting him [Arnold Schwarzenegger] into the Alien movie". Thanks to 'Ryan'."
I'm glad he liked it! at least this man showed the world that he doesn't have that big of an 'ego' good job Cameron, Mostow will feel very happy!

Holy shit! I just read a large portion of that ETerminator site and I've gotta say, I am begging, begging for a T4. T-1000s on the battlefield? T-800 production? The big bad mimetic polyalloy spider T-1000000?
Hell yeah! I'm salivating at the possibilities

I think a T4 should be like this game on X-Box called Terminator: Dawn of Fate. Its set during the war and the point of the game is you're the part of Kyle Reese and you have to make it to skynets new invention, a time-machine before the T-800. That is how it should be made, or something like that, play the game.

I know I'm a little late in getting to this, but isn't it a bit early to be making a Countdown to T4 thread? I mean, what with all the other Arnold possible-projects and the fact that he's probably going to run for governor, the chances for a T4 even being made are not looking that great. Plus there's the fact that it was said there wouldn't be one unless it passed $200 million, and it looks like it might but only barely. I dunno, since it's not actually an upcoming project, I dunno about making a countdown...
But eh, why should I bitch? :) I've loved all three of the Terminator movies, and you guys seem to have stuff to talk about, so I should probably just let you.

Until he's officially signed on the dotted line I'm taking everything Arnold says with a grain of salt. The man has been attached to so many different movies the past few years that it's hard to accept anything he says. In other words, I'll believe it when I see it.

Wow, I must be an idiot. Ten or so years of being on the 'Net and I still can't figure out what a link is. What an idiot I am...
Of course, I knew it was a link, but when I clicked on said link all the info that was there was "I heard on the radio that Arnold said he's up for T4 or something of that sort. No concrete info. was stated.

How could I be wrong if there's still a chance that Westworld won't be his next movie?

1. Well, gee...I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, nice sarcasm
2. Not really, it wasnt any radio station.
3. You're right.
But here's the quote
"If the fans go to see this movie it means they want more Terminator. If that’s the case then yes, I will be back for number four."

That's great that he said that, it really is, but until I see something official I'm not going to put much faith in it, especially considering I see Arnold running for Governer in the near future and giving up on making movies. What's the big deal with that?
