Batman-----Guy Pearce
Scarecrow----Chris Loyde
This is the talk right now, might change, so no promices. But, if this is all true, it would be awsome.
Joel Schumacher can go blow a dirty dick.

I, too, am looking forward to the project. However, a Bruce Wayne hasn't been chosen yet. The studio wants Ashton Kutcher, but Nolan isn't sold on him and it appears he will find someone else. Considering Peace's age, I'd be surprised if he gets picked. They're looking for a 25ish star.

Apparently the studio thinks Kutcher is perfect for the Batman part after they saw his superman screen test. I think they should show his screen test to win some people over because a lot of people, me being one of them think he is a horrible choice. One reason I think he is not a good choice is, he is too young to play Bruce Wayne. Thats all am going to say because i like him as an actor. He is funny.

There's a huge topic about Kutcher as Batman, so I won't repost what I said. But Lloyd is also very tentative, and Nolan has till the end of summer to pick someone everyone agrees with

Ashton would be the PERFECT choice for a batman movie if it was when Batman was in his 20s, I wish they would start the seriesa over with a batman beyond sorta deal in the present time...

Today it was reported Ashton Kutcher will play the part of Bruce/Batman.
The story is that Scarecrow (Loyde) has supposedly stolen Batman's Batmobile and Batman and Robin are trying to find it among completing a hectic day.
It is currently titled
"Dude, Wheres My Batmobile?"
Hehehe lol
Just kiddin'

Nolan is looking for someone in their mid 20's. I'm guessing they are looking for a large series of films to be made eventually.

I saw Johnny Depp on Leno the other night and he had blonde hair, was wearing scraggy clothes and had a hat on that kind of looks like Scarecrow's. I thought, as soon as he walked on stage, that he would be the perfect Scarecrow.
Ashton Kutcher can kiss my arse. He's an idiot. Christian Bale was born to be Batman.

Colin Farrel is overexposed , so please pass on that one .
DB is typecast in my opinion and we don't need anyone with a connection to Buffy as Batman .
Ashton " the wanna be modern day Rat Packer " Kutcher blows chunks . He doesn't have the wit or the depth to play such a complex character . All he would do is strut around with that annoying grin , like Clooney did . I just couldn't watch this film with him as B Man .
Christian Bale is a competent actor , but i don't see him in the suit or as Bruce Wayne , he's just not intriguing enough .
Now , why the hell are they regressing and going back to his origins , Hey dummies everyone already knows Batman's origins , we don't need another history lesson with some pinup pretty boys in the lead . We want to see the progression of his pathios , played by actual men , not the teen version of his formative years . At least in my opinion . Remeber Indy 3 , when they had a little sequence in the beginning , and they showed a little glimpse of what his life was like as a teen . It got the point across and led in to the main story just fine , but it would have blown as a full length feature , that's the way i feel about this Batman , they are regressing .
Anyway , since they seem to be adamant about backwards and featuring a younger Batman , i say go with Eric Maibius ( Mathew Addison in Res Evil ) . To me he would be perfect for the part , and he exhibits just the right amount of cheese and genuine earnestness to pull it off .
But if for some reason they come down from their crack trip and decide to not go back in time to when Bruce Wayne was younger , my first pick to play Batman is Campbell Scott , the guy is probably one of the best American actors working today and he has the skill , talent , intelligence , charisma , and a mysterious aura that he projects in almost every role he plays , to pull off and resurrect a franchise that is on Life Support .
My dark horse pick for Batman is the terrific Clive Owen , he's mesmerizing on screen , but i'm not so sure he could handle a California accent non accent that the role requires .
If they make Batman some youngin' , i'm going to pass on this , it will suck , and i will just go back to cherishing the first two by Burton and to a lesser extent the third by Shumacker .
Oh yeah , will the narrative flow backwards in this film , a pathetic cheap narrative trick to hide the fact that a film is only mediocre with a less than compelling story .

I think they riding off the success of the Batman Stories
"The Long Halloween" and " Dark Victory".
Possible some of the best Batman comics in the past 10 years or so, which is set in the beginning of his Career.
If they could pull it off as well as those two then the movie will be the best entry since Batman One.
I just hope they change the batsuit, and use the same costume design they did on Spidey...that big hard plastic suit wasnt cutting it for me in the movies.
You said everyone knows the generalized history of Bats..I mean they did touch on it in the first film.
But we havent seen how he basically involved from the emotional unattached youth to the emotional detached pyscho with a Bat suit.

I think Nolan's first choice in Guy Pearce is great. And seeing how he's made it quite clear that he isn't going with Kutcher, I'd say Pearce is going to wind up playing the Dark Night.
If I could pick anyone to play Bruce Wayne/Bat-Man, it would be Pierce Brosnan. He's got the wit, the charm, the mysteriousness. And he's already made himself famous as an action star. He's perfect.

I'm sure he could do a fake american one. But since this is just me talking about my choices, it isn't going to happen anyways.

I also heard that... several years ago. The script the're currently going with is Bat-Man: The Frightening, and you can find it right here on joblo.com under scripts.

If they were doing that, Scarecrow wouldn't be in it. Batman: Year One was about taking out the corrupt police force and it introduces Lieutenant James Gordon. So, they're not doing that.

The Long Halloween is one of the best Batman stories I've ever read. If they can pull off making The Long Halloween into a movie, it would be great. Also, unlike the other Batman movies, this one is a great mystery story, so it would make Batman look like the "World's Greatest Detective" that he is.
As for Ashton Kutcher as Batman? I think that's the stupidest idea I've ever heard. But he can't because he signed a contract with That 70's Show, as they said at the website Moviefan1234 gave us. I don't know about who should play Batman, I think Guy Pearce would be a good Batman, and they could probably make him look younger, if they need a young Batman. Christopher Lloyd would make a good Scarecrow because Scarecrow is crazy and in a couple of roles Chris Lloyd has shown us he can be crazy, not a crazy psychopath, though.

Well at first Darren Aronofsky was original going to direct Year One with him and Frank Miller writing it. Well I am guessing the studio did not like their script and they went with Christopher Nolan directing a completely different Batman film. Christopher Nolan already said Scarecrow isn’t in this one, and it has been said that this is going to be an origins story but not based on the Year One comic any more.

Whatever "Batman" movie they do, if it has the Scarecrow as the villian, then why not have Steve Buscemi play him. The Scarecrow is sort of a quirky character, and God knows how many quirky characters Buscemi has played.
And, I'm not try to continue the previous "Batman" movie's traditions, but I think that it would be cool if the Scarecrow teamed up with Clayface. They seem like a good pairing of villians. And, I think that Til' Schweiber (ex-convict Cotton from the "Scream" trilogy) would play the tough-guy human version of Clayface well. If they can't pair Clayface with Scarecrow, then they could still make Clayface the villian in the next official sequel to "Batman and Robin." We all know they'll eventually make a regular sequel, just as they will eventually make a prequel.

I still have more confidence in Nolan though.
