Yes, they made a spin-off of a film that is best left forgotten. A cameo by Patrick Swayze? Well, I smell a career revitalization coming on. And I smell another horrible film that'll probably make money.

The Spin Off /sequel is getting the thumbs down vibes by fellow schmoes. I was suprised to see Patrick Swayze listed. What, Jennifer was busy? :D Since newcomer Diego Luna (Y Tu Mama Tambien), Jonathan Jackson & Sela Ward is in the sequel I wouldnt mind seeing what this movie has to offer.

Now may be a good time to tell you to check out the lousy tagline. Terrific.

The other night I was hanging out in the city of San Juan, here in Puerto Rico were I live, and to my surprise they were filming parts of Dirty Dancing II here.

I was gonna go and hang out at this pub I usually go to called "Dakiti" but I was surprised to find out that it was turned into a set for Dirty Dancing II: Havana Nights. Cool! I said to myself, a real life hollywood film being filmed right in front of me!

We hung out for a few on the street, cause they had closed down the place, and after a while all the extras came walking out all sweaty and all, probably from all the dancing they were doing, but they were all dressed in their Cuban like clothings, wich was cool to see, very colorful. Heres the kicker though: soon after Diego Luna and the blond actress who plays his love interest, (her name eludes me) came walking out on to the street. It was weird cause Diego Luna was nibbling on her ear...and looking up at the moon. I refrained from going up to them and saying hi. But still, it was cool to see a semi popular movie star so up close.

There were these movie props hanging around the street all with signs of "dont touch" on em. But it was cool to see a film being made right in my home town. They keep this kind of thing really quiet as to not create to much fuss around the people here, so I guess thats why I kinda missed the fact the theyve been filming practically the whole damn film here!

Anyhows add to that the fact that there was a total eclipse of the moon on that very night, and it all adds up to one cool night for me!

Anyhows, putting my real life "movie experience" aside, this movie does look like itll suck the big one.

I hope that they have to dance their way through the cuban missle crisis in this movie. Then I may see it. Glitter has competition.

Hey you guys, I for one actually want to see this movie. I love both the actors, Diego Luna and Romola Garai and the premise seems interesting. Plus the trailer is good.
Just because it is a sequel does not necessarily mean itll suck. And if you go to flimjerk.com, the review of the script is actually a good one.
I hope Im not the only one that goes to see this movie :)

I just saw the trailer for this, and it was nothing special, mainly because it is just some latin music and collages of scenes, but i'll probably end up seeing this. The film has apparently been getting good early buzz. Though it could all go horribly wrong. We'll see.

And is it just me or does the chick in this look a little like Drew Barrymore, especially on the poster.

If Dirty Dancing is a classic, then we're in some serious trouble when it comes to movies.

Killer soundtrack, sure, but very cheesy movie IMO.

By the way I think this sequel is a terrible idea. Horrid even.

It doesn't look bad, and it doesn't look good. I'll give it a rent, but I don't think I'll see it in theaters.

The tagline for this movie should be "Let's Get Dirty!"

You know I remember all the hype around the original when i was a little kid and wanting to see it so badly, but of course my parents wouldn't let me. So I made a vow to myself at that young age to see every movie that I wasn't allowed to see when I was a kid when I was grown up. Dirty Dancing was on that list.

Years later I saw it when I was older........ cheesy and ridiculous and not even in the fun way.

Bring on a sequel, and while we're at it let's bring on a sequel to Footloose and Flashdance and ram it into studios' heads that shit can sink!!!!

Oh, God, kill me now! This has to be a joke. I didn't even see what was so great about the first movie. I remember hearing about how good it was, then when I saw it, it was just kind of annoying.:(

Wow. This movie is making me shiver. But that's probably because I just threw up. Yes. It will certainly be a masterpiece. Perhaps even the "Gigli" of the year award will go to it come this December. But until then. We wait. We love. We dance dirtily.

In my opinion the original Dirty Dancing had that certain corny romance vibe of like the parents object of the relationship. Which lets face it mostly that is a classic situation. I was 50/50 on the original. I can't say I hated it and then again I can't say that I absolutely loved it. However I do not think that the sequel will ever match up to the original. I think they should have just left it alone and forgotten about the fact that it never had a sequel. I think everyone would have been better off that way. The only reason I will go to see the sequel if I even do go to see it is for the possible make-out scenes. For that reason I will make my boyfriend go.

This movie looks completely dumb, but it will probably get to #1 in the box office {i mean that completely idiotic movie You Got Served got #1...people obviously are trying to learn how to breakdance by going to see this movie}.

This is pathetic, I realize, but, I will see Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights for the FOLLOWING six reasons...

Reasons of Annie's cinematic and moral demise
1. I recently saw Y Tu Mama Tambien, and have a crush of sorts on Diego Luna (who I realize looks a bit like a toad in the trailers of this movie). I will go to prove it was fleeting.
2. I remember when Jonathan Jackson played Mud in Camp Nowhere, and I feel the sudden urge to support the girlish bastards career.
3. I saw the original movie and, I figure, if I sat through the FIRST one...
4. Maybe the scenery will be pretty?
5. Chances are, I'll be dragged to it anyway
6. I don't really have a six, but, top 5/10 lists are stupid.
