Basically, it is in storyboard form, and Freeman's character kills Spacey instead of Pitt. (sorry cant remember their character names) Hence Spacey does not get to finish his masterpiece.

All this happens after Freeman draws his gun at Pitt to stop him from killing Spacey

Actually, (if anyone remembers the good old laserdiscs)the ending was shot and released on the extras of the old laserdisc pressing of 7.It was shown first on storyboards and then on actual film........

Actually, Spacey's masterpiece was finished. I thought the movie blew, but his final two people that he wanted dead were Pitt's wife and him. Freeman even said that that was what Spacey wanted...just had to clear that up.

Hey Go5- Spacey (Jon Doe) says " I took a souvenier, her pretty Head"- so we know whats in the box

"Bankholdup"- in order for John Doe's masterpiece to work he needed Pitt to become "Wraith"- If Freeman kills him it negates the last remaining deadly sin.

no because pitt's wife didnt die for comitting a sin. Spacey died for envy but pitt's character never got to have wrath against him.
