I have heard amazing things about Krzysztof Kieslowski's ten short films about each of the commandments, but I can't seem to find a copy of it anywhere and I don't like shopping on the internet. So...

1- Where can I find a copy?

2- Do you think that these films are worth my money?

Wow, I hadn't heard of this, but I just looked it up and it looks awesome!!

I loved Kieslowski's Trois Colours films. You can rent them from netflix. The release date is listed as aug.2003. Here is the write-up on Neflix:

The Decalogue:
Krzysztof Kieslowski's award-winning cinematic masterpiece is a riveting, profound work of supreme daring and imagination. Using one of the Ten Commandments as a thematic springboard for each film in this collection, Kieslowski bucks the trend of action-based or psychological filmmaking, exploring the lives of ordinary people flailing through inner torments, hard decisions and shattering revelations.

That sounds like a winner to me!!

I've seen:

Short Film About Love 8/10
Short film about killing 8/10

...Apparently these are not even the best on the series. They are not as flashy visually as the Colors Trilogy or Veronique, but they are more raw, real and emotional. Excellent stuff if you are into realistic drama.

I've seen a couple of these and found them to be intelligent, thought provoking and not without moments of humour (surprising given the thematic seriousness). I've been meaning to get the DVD collection of all ten shorts but it's a little expensive. Hmmm...think i'll go have a check to see if I can get it cheaper anywhere.
