My thoughts exactly. Though sooooo many people in the U.S already seen the first one. It was like an underground hit here. But I think if they released THAT in theaters, it'd make tons of money despite the controversy

I reccomend that anyone who is interested to check out the book Battle Royale, which the movie is based on. Any half-decent bookstore should have it in stock.

Yeah I'm hoping for a theatrical release as well. Don't get your hopes up though. Remember that whole stupid fiasco with "The Two Towers" name, where people were complaining it was too remniscent of 9/11? Well in BR 2, not only are buildings bombed by terrorists, but the terrorists get their training in....you guessed it, Afghanistan. I can already see people complaining about that, not to mention the whole "kids slaughtering each other" thing.

Someone on another forum talked about this film (he saw it in Japan just recently) He said it wasn't as good as the first film.
Due to that fact that the director died during filming and someone else took over. You can see and feel the difference in the way the film was intended to go.

Bah, it could get 10000000 bad reviews, and I'm still stoked to see it. There in NO way it could be half as bad as the shit that has been pumped out of the Hollywood system the past couple years (as far as action goes).

While I don't agree with your view of recent action movies, I do agree that no bad review is gonna stop me from watching BR 2 with an open mind. I am a HUGE fan of the first. Actually I've been steering clear of any and all spoilers, including reviews. I have faith it will at least be a decent continuation of the BR mythos.

never saw the first/original,but DID here this one did like $2 million bucks in like 267 screens.
