ah....
not to interested....I don't really want another "ALIENS" I really want for an aliens movie is: A prequel and ALIENS VS. PREDATOR
Arnold in an alien movie? Well....it could work but I care nothing to see it. I love arnie and all but I don't want him in an Alien movie. He should go make a Predator 3
After Alien: Resserection I wanted a prequel to the Alien series...cause I wasn't into the cloned Ripley thing.
Oh yeah...I happened to have LOVED ALIEN3 fuck you James Cameron ya fuckin BUM! Excuss me if I offended anyone from that...but Cameron isn't a fav of mine...since what has he done in the last 6 or 7 years...pretty much nothing....I want Ridley Scott to take on another ALIEN movie
I know most of the schomes are going to the love this news....I for one....don't really like it....and so far...it seems to be just a rumor, nothing official anyways

I have to agree with Hell Phantom here. I like ALIEN 3 because it had a harsh reality call in it. Plus, it expanded further on the Ripley character. It also showed just how vulernable she was, how strong her connections were to characters, and how she managed to withstand it as well. We learned so much about it. It really had this dark vibe that reality has a lot of the time. I loved that. It felt very believable. However, T3 and ALIEN: RESURRECTION didn't feel that way to me. They just feel like eye candy and nothing more. I'm not too big on this news myself.
Not to mention ALIEN 3 had 30 minutes cut from it.

I guess so. I don't know, but I just loved it's ballsy approach. The character of Ripley also felt very expanded upon. It had a great dark vibe to it that also seemed quite reality based. I just loved that. I saw it when I was 7, too. It kept a special place in my heart since. I didn't even cry at the end. It did feel like the saga was completed. I loved ALIEN 3 since, and always will.

alien 3 was very good. i thought they did a good job and took the series in a good, albeit, different direction. what did you want? a repeat of aliens? horror fans, us, always complain about the lack of originality and sequels repeating the other films in the series.
alien 3 actually did its own thing and was a very dark ending to the saga and that movie should have ended the trilogy and there should NOT have been RESURRECTION.
kudos to fincher for having the guts to be original and making me sob like a lil girl at ripley's ending.

This has to be one of the best and original sagas of all time. Alien has some genuine scary as hell moments - and I DON'T say that about a lot of movies. The only series I have the box set to.
If arnold showed up in 5 - while I have nothing against him personally - then I think, I really really think, it would be bye bye Erin. : ) Massive stroke. Dead at a young age. In front of the TV or computer upon reading the news.

I'm another Alien3 lover! I thought it was a bold move to kill off Newt and Hicks (even though I would have liked to have seen where the story would have gone with them in ti), but it did heighten Ripley's sense of isolation, particularly on a planet full of men.
Fincher directed it with style and produced an effective little movie (even if he doesn't like the final cut, but hopefully the Quadrology will have his original cut on it, or at least contain the deleted scenes). The alien was sufficiently different from the first two films, and the whole feel of the movie was new to the series. I love the first two movies with a passion, but what didn't want with Alien3 was a rehash of either of them - they're both classics in their own right and to try and emulate them would have been a mistake.
As for Resurrection, the less said the better - a messy film that tainted what should have been a great trilogy.
Also, I can't see Arnie doing an Aliens film anytime soon - in this month's Empire magazine he is raving about several projects that he has on the go, including a new Conan movie, sequels to True Lies and Total Recall, and a possible T4, as well as his long-cherished Crusades project. At a movie a year that's Arnie tied up for the next five years, by which time he'll be pushing 60! :)
As ever, though, we'll wait and see................ :)

I for some reason...can not picture arnie in an Alien movie....it would be to weird, then again...maybe it could work...I don' think he will be in it...
Oh yeah.... I can see how Alien 3 can be hated...I use to hate it but now its my Fav out of the series :D
I don't care that they killed off Newt and Hicks....I didn't really care for them anyways, I watch Alien movies for: of course, the ALIENS! And Ripley...my all time fav herion!
Which I got in Alien 3 and what makes it even better is that I like dark, depressing movies which Alien3 was! What more could I ask for?

Alien3 is great James is a sissy. I mean he used to be one of my favorite directors then he got all sissy and emotional and made titanic and that stupid dark angel series(oh how long did that last, not too long). I think they should forget about alien 5 and focus more on alien vs predator.

It sucked because it was a rehash of the first. One alien in cramped quarters. It's an OK movie, but it was not neccessary.
Giger had designed a much more complex alien for 3 but they didn't use it. It was going to fuse metal and body parts to itself.
Look, when you have one movie to introduce the alien and one movie to introduce a whole hive with a queen, the third is supposed to get bigger. In my opinion both 3 and Ressurection were pointless and it downright saddens me that the effort wasn't put into the one thing everyone has been waiting to see....aliens, meet earth. Earth, meet aliens. To those saying he should do a prequel: GOD NO!!! The first movie was as far back as any plot needed to go. What could a prequel possibly be!? An invasion of earth or a fight against predators are the only two places the films haven't gone that would be worth going.
It's important to note, however, that James Cameron said he'd only be involved in another Aliens movie if it is agreed that an "Aliens vs. Predator" will never exist. So, as far as that's concerned, if this thread's info is accurate James has eternally screwed us over. We will never see them duke it out on the big screen for as long as any of us live.

But that was PREDATOR. A totally different series, my friend. It would be VERY different. PREDATOR and TERMINATOR are Arnie's series. ALIEN is Weaver's hands-down.

Actually, I think it would be. Predator had a much different feel to it than any of the Alien movies.
I don't know, I just can't picture Arnold in one of those movies. Maybe it's because I've never really care for the Alien saga. Personally, I'd much rather see him move onto some of the other movies he has on his plate.

Instead of getting "bigger," why can't sequels just get...better? There is a difference. In a sense, Alien 3 was "bigger." It expanded the storyline and introduced a fresh batch of characters (granted, most of them weren't well-developed). I enjoyed a return to the series' moody, claustrophobic roots. It could have easily been a hollow blockbuster, but Fincher opted to keep things intimate.
I don't see this Arnold/xenomorph collaboration coming into fruition. And frankly, I wouldn't want it to come into fruition. Let Ripley and Dutch do battle with their respective extraterrestrial adversaries, and leave it at that. Arnold would be an eyesore in an Alien film.

i agree, think of it this way, can anyone picture Sigourney Weaver in a predator movie??? They should both stay in their own series. Arnie should kick predator ass and Sigourney should kick alien ass.Iif you want to unite them put both of them in Aliens vs. Predator!

I have to agree with you, JayWolf. Alien 3 tried something different and was successful in many people's eyes, despised by others. But you can't please 'em all, can you. True, killing three likeable characters right off the bat screws the fans but it is redeemed by the rest of the movie. Like The Arrow, I felt that this series ended with Ripley jumping into the molten lead. Stupid Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and who the hell saw The City Of Lost Children anyways?

But "Resurrection"`s problems began with the 'been-there-done-that' script by Joss Whedon.

Good to know there are more Alein3 fans in here, I heard that Alien3 did fucking awsome in Europe when it came out.
Back to the subject: Arnie in an aliens movie...
Yes he was in Predator but I think that's why diffrent. Although he was in Total Recall which had him in space, I still don't want Arnie up there with a good old Alien.
Picture this:
"Ah! It's a big scary insect-thingy! Oh Fauk! Let's...uh kill it with our neato guns Weav...I MEAN! Ripley! Yah!"
Sorry...to many MADTV spoofs of Arnold...hahahha gotta luv the arnie and his accent
but instead of Arnie in a Alien sequel....how about Arnie in a Kindergarten Cop II!!!!!!!! :D

I was never a fan of Alien 3 or 4 that much. The original two will forever be the best. But I think this sounds interesting. If Cameron, Arnold, and Sigourney actually decide to do this, then I'm there! It would make for a very interesting movie. Plus, Cameron said it would be something like Aliens....niiiiice.

Aliens Quadrilogy info!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what we'll get: two versions of Aliens (theatrical version and director's cut version), full version (2.50 hours!!) of Alien3, Alien Resurrection with alternate openings and endings, and 3 hours of extra material on the ninth disc. There is no mention on Alien, but speculation has arisen that the "new" theatrical version, which is being released in cinemas soon, will be the one we'll get (most likely as an alternative to the regular version). Thanks to Sadogoat.
i dont know if the source is reliable but if this is true this is fuckin awesome!!! a directors cut of aliens 2 and a half hours long?!? oh HELL YEA!! Steverno should be drooling right now lol :)

I was pissed because Alien 3 totally destoryed Aliens. It diminshed the ending to nothing. So everytime I see Aliens I cant help but think...Dont fight too hard Ripley, they're all gonna be dead in a few hours. She worked so hard for jack shit.

Well, life is like that. Sometimes life sticks things in and break it off BIG time. That's what I loved about it. It was ballsy, dark reality based, really expanded on Ripley as a character, and it was very creepy, that she had to face this until she died. I appauled the movie for that, and I was seven! Besides, the girl who played Newt was too old now, and Weaver and Beihn didn't get along so well.

I also would prefer not to have Arnold in an Alien sequel. A Predator sequel would be much more fitting for Arnold, and Maybe McT could come back to direct. I actually like James Cameron, despite his bad reputation, and the fact that he can't hide his stuntmen very well. Despite all of his movie falts, he is a very good director and a master at capturing action. Yeah, he hasn't done much in a while, but he's gonna be shooting True Lies 2 pretty soon since the script is already done, so that should be good. The first one had a lot of problems, but I thought that it was a pretty damm good movie. After he finishes a movie, he should use cgi(it usually looks great for this procedure) to erase the faces of his stuntmen and stuntwomen, and then he should place the actor or actresses face in their spot. That way the experience will be perfect. True Lies shows Arnold's stuntman even more than T2 did. Not good! Cameron's only bad movie was Pirahna 2

I personally don't want to see Arnie in an Alien movie. Another Predator? That would be cool. James Cameron doing another Alien movie could be really cool. And damn, lots of Alien3 bashing around here! Throw rocks if you want, but I thought Alien3 kicked ass. The dark, depressing mood of the film was what i thought made it stand out. And man, and I eagerly await the boxed set of the Alien movies, way too cool.

It was not ballsy it was it was half-assed. Correction, half-assed is too high of a standard for Alien 3 to have ever have remotely reached. If I wanted to watch a movie about how life screws people I would have watch Mask or Silkwood. Or if it had been out back then Titanic, and could I have gotten the same boring, depressing, predictable experince of Alien 3 without the expectaion of seeing a horror movie.
Oh well to each their own.
As for arnold apearing in an aliens, I dont have anything against it but I also dont think that having him in the aliens series would add anything special to it either.
Given the shear amount of writen material that has been put out for Aliens, Predator, and Aliens vs Predator I see a great deal of potential for all three movie series (if AvsP is not DOA).

I'd rather not know, really. A weird-as-hell ship with a weird-as-hell dead crew is found from some unfathomable corner of the universe and harbors an unbelievably hideous parasitic being of amazing power. That's the kind of thing that would be cheapened by any further information.
I do recall Giger giving a bit of info on them, though. He said that the aliens are only as big a threat to them as our earthly wild beasts are to us. Makes you think.
