Im a fan of the original version of 12 Angry Men with Fonda but just a little bit ago I watch the 12 Angry Men remake. I was kinda suprised when later I found out it was made for TV. I know they mean HBO cause of the language but I thought it was a very good remake. The acting was really good and I liked the cast. Jack Lemmon is always outstanding and I thought Olmos and Davis were very good. Im not sure which one I liked more actually. I know its easy to choose the original but I think the newer one had some charm to it.

The story for either film is still great. Movies like this always pack a great script and great acting to make up for the fact that it all takes place in one room. We have so many movies about trials, the murders, and jail flicks but nothing that captures the drama of the jury. I really liked both of these films and Im suprised not many talk about them.

Original - 8/10
Remake - 8/10

The TV version is acceptable, although there's nothing lacking in the original to necessitate a remake. It would be pretty hard to fuck up this material, so if you hire good actors there's no way a bad movie can be the result.

I liked the TV version but, really, what was the point? Great cast and all that, but the original is unbeatable so why bother?

I've only seen the remake, so I can't compare either. But I did like the remake, in a 7/10 way

Wow, I never even knew they did a remake. I'll have to check that out. But the original is fantastic...10/10

Actually, the remake was produced and originally aired on Showtime, not HBO.

I actually prefer the remake. And that's only because I like Jack Lemmon and George C Scott moreso than the original guys. It's more or less the same script though.

Haven't seen the remake, but the original 12 ANGRY MEN easily gets a 10/10 from me. Amazing film!

I think the original was superb, one of the best films ever. The remake just didn't have the same spark, if you ask me.

I had to watch them both in English class. I didn't like either but the re-make was decent

I've seen both. Although the first one is a film classic, the Made for TV version is not bad. It benefits from the strong script of the original and with a strong lead such as Jack Lemon produced a good remake. And I thought Tony Danza's character was funny. :D
