I know this sonds terrible for a movie 'fan' but just lastnight I watched DieHard I and II for the first time. I'd already seen III.
And I just gotta say FUCK!!!!!
I LOVE number one! number two was okay, but, number one took a steel pipe and flogged me with it! I loved it.

Did-you-know:

One of the dudes who wrote DieHard had previouslly written a little film called Commando ( starring my Idol...sylvester stallone! lol) And after Commando was a success the guy wrote Commando II, yet, could'nt get any interest behind it so he re-wrote some things, changed some names and, thus, DieHard was born!

It would've been interesting to see Arnie runnin 'roun barefoot through the Nagkatomi building takin out fellow Germans.
But Yippie-kay'e motherfucker would'nt have sounded the same.

Bruce Willis has now been elevated from like 50th to 3rd favourite actor/action star.

Any thoughts/comments?

Indy.

It's Arnold Schwarzenegger who stars in Commando not Stallone. Wrong action hero.

Anyway I love this movie. It's a seminal classic in the action genre. Though I slightly prefer Die Hard 2. Die Hard 1 has a better villian. But I still prefer #2 slightly more.

Yeah ilovemovies I kinda knew that Arnie is in 'Commando', I was just copycating 'Last action hero' You know with Stallone being in Terminator 2?

Anyway.
My order of favourites is as follows: - DieHard.
- DieHard: With avengance.
- DieHard: Die Harder.

The Villain in II is a fuckin nut job!

Recon there will be a numba 4? Wat would it be called?
Wat would be the plot?

Indy.

Die Hard is up there as one of my favorite action movies. Some great one-liners, awesome villain (Alan Rickman is the man), some good shoot-ups, and some comic relief. It has it all.

You think that's bad? You should see the version shown on USA where the line is butchered to "Yipee Ki Yay, Mister Falcon" and makes no fucking sense. Anyway, I dug Die Hard a lot as a little kid, but on repeat viewings is does wear a bit thin. I still like it, but actually find both sequels to be superior. I'd give it a 7 and Die Harder and With A Vengeance 8.

die hard also kicked my ass first time i saw it. 10/10, one of the best action movies eva!
die hard 2 was okay, as it only started to pick up in the end, had a weaker villain, premise, and weaker film overall.6/10

i love the first die hard. the others are ok. but the fact that john mclane has no shoes on during the whole movie (cept for the first five minutes or so) makes me just think how anyone could not love this movie!!!

The third one (Die Hard w/ a Vengeance) is pretty freakin' cool also - adding Samuel Jackson and Jeremy Irons into the mix. I have the trilogy on DVD man! Love these movies!

A true action/Willis classic. This has it all. Bad-ass hero, bad-ass villian, bad-ass black cop, bad-ass one liners, come on! I own this on the SE DVD, and love to pop it in once in a while.

9/10

DieHard 4: Die Hardest!
According to IMDB this film is ready to shoot after Willis finishes another movie about him being an LAPD negotiator or sumfin like that.

Apparently the plot will be as follows: John McClane and his Daughter are on a Carribean holiday and during said holiday Macca takes down summore terrorists! Whoo!!!!!

I'm lining up out the front of the multi-plex right-friggin-now!!

imo the original Die Hard is the best action movie ever made. The sequels were merely good but the original was great. Who plays the tough guy role better than Bruce Willis? Nobody, that's who.

Die Hard is the film that reshaped action movies as we see them. It put a realistic character as the hero and cast a relative unknown outside the television world as that hero. When this movie first came out, My father said to me,"I'm not seeing any movie with that asshole from Moonlighting." I told him it would be good and he finally submitted and took me. To this day, neither one of us has seen a better action film. This movie had everything, action, suspense, comedy(the limo driver and the FBI guys, drama(the relationship in turmoil between him and his wife), and that whole Christmas feel to it. The fight scenes were intense, they had that fight-to-the-death feel to them. Alan Rickman was the perfect villain. The music was fan-fucking-tastic and elevated every scene to a higher level, especially in the scene where the dad from Family Matters had to use his gun. All around, the greatest action flick ever, there are no substitutes.

The sequels were enjoyable, but half-assed in comparison to the first one. MAH!

Roger Ebert gave it two stars (http://www.suntimes.com/ebert/ebert_reviews/1988/07/304237.html). Let the bashing begin.

But he did like the sequels more.

Ebert also gave Menace To Society two thumbs up. I don't trust that fat bastard. MAH!

Actually, from what I've heard, the script just was just written. Bruce hasn't even committed to the project because he hasn't read it yet. He has to decide if it's good or not to do the film..

In fact, the script that was going to be Die Hard 4 was instead converted into a film called Tears of the Sun, do you remember it? I read that in imdb. Quite surprising. I guess they're doing another script for it now.

yes, you damn martian, I remember that as well. I'm kinda glad that isn't the die hard 4 script. That movie was good just as it was without a John McClane

Die Hard is an action classic and earns a spot on my top 20 of all time.

Bruce Willis is a one liner spitting action god, Alan Rickman's performance is flawless, Reginald Veljohnson didn't remind me of Carl from Family Matters for once, and the action scenes were fantastic. Love the Christmas theme too. Not only is this movie one of my favorite action movies, but it's also my favorite Christmas movie as well. Nothing says Merry Christmas quite like "Yippee kiyay, motherfucker."

I love this movie.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but DIE HARD is one of the greatest action films ever. DIE HARD 2 was O.K. DIE HARD 3 did not cut it for me. Stop with the DIE HARD films.

I think one more would be cool to end the series. Forget trilogies and end series with quadripolies, is that right? Oh well, Jurassic Park, Indy, and now Die Hard.

Die Hard 10/10-One of the best acton movies ever made

Die Hard 2:Die Harder 7/10 A good solid flick though nowhere near as good as the original.

Die Hard:With A Vengence 9/10 Very enjoyable almost as good as the original.

Die Hard 4-I remeber when this first came up with the premise of John being on vacation with his daughter that Britney Spears was rumored to be up for the role of John's daughter I shutter to think what a Die Hard film would be like with Miss Spears in it.

Possibly the best action movie ever made, as many have said. You know a movie is classic when every second action movie out is described as "Die Hard on a plane", "Die Hard on a battleship", etc...

It should be noted that the FBI agents in this movie are two of the biggest jackasses in cinematic history. I love how they don't mind losing a significant percentage of the hostages.

"I can live with that."

It's real justice when their helicopter blows up, I tell you.
