The Plot

Km. 0 is a exuberant sex farce that takes a frenzied peek into the lives of a group of people whose lives all intersect one very hot summer day at km. 0 – the very center of Madrid. The various plotlines all involve chance meetings, missed connections and mistaken identifies, but from the confusion comes unexpected erotic interludes, new friendships, hot and bothered sexual escapades and romantic couplings. There’s the 21-year-old movie director hopeful who is fresh off the bus and is picked up by a prostitute instead of his sister’s friend; an older woman who beds a male escort only to discover that she may be related to him; a dance instructor whose personal encounter in a chat room offers sex and maybe even love; a virgin about to be married but befriended by a interested gay man; and an aspiring actress who will do anything to get a part in a big musical. Amidst the heat, dreams are realized, clothing shed and romance triumphs! A rollicking, fast-paced comedy about finding your right partner, even if it means trying on a few beforehand.

The Cast

MARGA (Concha Valasco) is burnt up and bitter about her past and her husband (Roberto Álvarez) is bored with her. Yet her enthusiasm, youthful spirit, and eternal optimism can overlook any obstacle. So, she decides to amuse herself by calling a male escort agency for a little fun.

PEDRO (Carlos Fuentes) arrives at Km. 0 full of innocence and passion to become a film director. He has arranged to meet an actress friend of his sister's, Silvia, who he has never seen before and who will take him back to stay at her place.

SILVIA (Mercé Pons) is a thirty-five year-old actress whose talent is wasted doing soap operas. Frightened by the speed with which time is rushing by, she is determined to do whatever it takes to get the role she wants…and succeed.

MARIO (Tristan Ulloa) A waiter in a bar at Puerta del Sol, his secret ambition is to open up a camera shop of his own. His fiancée on the other hand, Amor, is only interested in stability, bullying him into conforming.

AMOR (Silke) Mario's girlfriend is simple "chic" with just one goal: marriage. A romantic, she believes in fairy tales…and in one afternoon, is robbed three times.

MIGUEL (Jesús Cabrero) A male escort and proud of it. Life is good for him and he is a happy man. He does his work gets paid for it, and everything is just fine…

BENJAMÍN (Miguel García) Miguel's roommate. He believe in Cupid and "love at first sight" and wants to find the perfect partner more than anything else in the world.

SERGIO (Alberto San Juan) A grey suit wearing, little civil servant - and is still a virgin! Terrified by his upcoming marriage, he is looking for a professional to show him the "ropes" to prepare him for his wedding night.

BRUNO (Victor Ullate Jr.) Extremely ambitious, dancing is his life. He wants no commitments, no romance. Sex is just something he looks for on the internet.

TATIANA (Elisa Matilla) A prostitute at the cheaper end of the range. She lives a dog's life, just hoping to have enough money to pay her bills and not be beaten up by the clients.

GERARDO (Georges Corraface) A theater director who is on his way to a casting session for a new play when he has a traffic accident in Puerta del Sol. Trapped and frustrated, his patience is tested.

ROMA (Cora Tiedra) An adolescent desperate to get experience in life and love so that the man she loves will notice her.

THE COP (Roberto Álamo) An infantile and impulsive policeman whose romanticism is all tied up in a childhood full of rejection and loss.

I can't believe this movie is going to be released out there. Here in Spain it was critically cold received (if not bashed), and didn't work quite well in box office either.

I hope some better films like La Caja 507 or El Otro Lado de la Cama get there too!
