So far, this is my favorite foreign movie. The story is just plain great, it is neat how it toys with your mind. The film's soundtrack is just outstanding, it sends an energetic pulse through your veins. Franka Potente just stole the show as Lola, this was a real star-making role for her. 9/10
A fast-paced and highly entertaining movie. Although, I think Tom Tykwer. the director, and Franka Potente take it to another level in The Princess and the Warrior. Still, it's a very solid movie.
8/10

An incredibly original, and surprisingly simple movie. It manages to be very physical, vibrant, and fast-paced, while at the same time asking philosophical questions and being very intelligent. Franka Potente was great, and was in really good shape (I wonder if anyone has tried running for the entire length of that movie?)

I have to see this movie again, but from my first view i'll tell you that it's entertaining, stylish directed, with some great ideas well developed (if you want to see the same main idea bad developed, watch Sliding Doors)... but after all, not quite impressive. The plot by itself is nothing really outstanding, and the characters are simple and secondary... 7/10

I consider it a film that looks into the possibilities of fate. If one little thing did not happen or went differently, would that change the outcome of the characters? The movie says yes, and it does it very well.

Great flick! Made me fall in love with Franka Potente (who was good in THE BOURNE IDENTITY, too, btw).

I thought it was alright, but nothing really more. In my opinion it relied too much on originality to try and blow the viewer away, which isn't very original. Still though, an alright film 6/10

I didn't even realize they were the same person...
I love this movie, one of my favorite foreign films (though I still haven't bought it yet)...
IMHO, the characters are pretty damned compelling and it toys w the idea of fate in a way that it's not cheap.

****Possible Spoilers Ahead*****
Just watched this last night. I'm still juiced up over it. I love the fast pace, the animated intercuts, the driving, pulsing, soundtrack, the "and then", ...damn there's so much to love!!
The scenes after each "run" of Lola and her boyfriend in bed together are absolutely great!!
I definitely need another viewing to pick up things i may have missed. (When a movie is subtitled, I find it hard to concentrate on the images as much as I'd like too because I have to concentrate on the dialogue. Anyone else have this issue?)
After one viewing I'd give it a 4/5.
It's funny, i've been on a foreign movie binge for the last few weeks, (since this forum started :D ) and my wife has not enjoyed that very much. She finds them "boring" although she hasn't really given them a chance. So last night when I put this in she said "oh no, is this a foreign film  But a few minutes into it, she was lovin' it. In gerneral, the foreign films I have been watching are slower paced than typical Hollywood fare, but this one kicked ass right outta the gate!

Yes, I've been actively seeking foreign films the last few weeks as well. Run Lola Run is one that is easier to watch than most of the foreign films out there. Now if only the selection at my local video store wasn't awful, I'd be watching a lot more.

I remember watching this movie oh so many years ago when it first hit video, and I remember being really impressed. I think I should give the movie another whirl sometime soon.

one of my favorite movies of all time for all the reasons mentioned above. i have the german poster (http://www.nostalgia.com/nf_moreinfo.html?cart=1062210925409&sku=40453) in my room, which in my opinion, is way better than the american one.

Run Lola Run was a film created to be exactly that: a film. Most foreign "movies" and so on are lame, have half-assed music/sound, and in the process of translation have lost the flare and invigoration they were created to portray to begin with. Run Lola Run has not. This film is a work of art, enjoyable from heart-beat to heart-attack. It will twist you, play with your sense of reality, and leave you breathless. Yeah, this is a great film.

Why aren't you "not big on foreign flicks"? If I may ask. Anyways...there is no real point of me saying anything about this fun flick, I think everyone else has covered it. :)

I think this is somewhat overrated not very engaging, but still I though it was interesting what it was trying to say about fate.

hunting for possibilities is unexpectable but attractive.

I totally agree. I just saw this film for the first time this weekend, and was blown away. It was only 80 minutes long, but it had utter and absolute control of my attention for the entire 80 minutes. From the opening monologue about life being a game of Soccer (sorry, football) all the way to the final, "What's in the bag?" I was hooked.
The only part that felt sort of akward to me was the Lola screaming thing that they did three times, but oh well, still an awesome movie. If any of you haven't checked it out, do so. And any movie where you get so see someone as gorgeous as Franka Potente swear in German is worth watching.

i'm surprised to see that i've never posted about this film. I enjoyed it. quite good, but overall wasn't blown away like I was hoping to be. I also saw it on crappy vhs which might've beena nother factor.
i'm a much bigger fan of tykwer's other work, THE PRINCESS AND THE WARRIOR which is one of my favorite movies of all time. But very different from the kinetic energy of Run Lola Run.
I gave Run Lola Run 7/10 and I don't see any reason why I'd change it now. But i haven't seen it in a while.
