Last night I sat down to watch my copy of Hitcher II: I've Been Waiting. Now, let me be honest -- I've never seen the original, which Arrow loved so much. But I followed this one pretty easily, as its connection to the first mearly seems to be a similar plot and C. Thomas Howell.
The film is fast-paced at 93 minutes, and Jake Busey gives a fun, charismatic Freddy Krueger-like performance. Things get interesting when a main character dies in a barn, as from that point on the film is a 60-minute chase scene between Busey and... well, you'll see.
My major complaint is the lack of exposition as to whom Jack (Busy) is. While I completely understand the enjoyment for those who don't require an explanation, the film builds like there will be some reveal, to the point where Jack is trapped and a character asks who he is and he says, "Already? And spoil the fun!?"
Of course, he never gets around to saying.
I'd give the film a 6.5/10, pretty decent for direct-to-video.
