Not surprisingly, Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore maintained the Number 1 spot for a second week with their action sequel CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE. Only dropping 39%, the flick took in $3,536,497, taking its two week total to $12,326,501. In a surprising move, Eddie Murphy's family venture DADDY DAY CARE rised one spot, and 25%, in its 3rd week of release. At the moment it sits comfortably with $10,770,830. Jim and Jennifer's comedy BRUCE ALMIGHTY continues to do itself proud with $16,603,228 after 4 weeks in release. Not doing as well is the action of THE HULK. This week it took in $1,148,271. After 3 weeks it has totalled $8,207,536. With the school holidays still on, the kiddie flicks all had successful runs with the trio of LIZZIE, SINBAD and PIGLET all staying put in regards to positions, but having substantial takings increases. The Hilary Duff flick, up 45%, took in $930,366, the Pitt/Pfeiffer outing, up 61%, added $920,686 to its name, and Pooh's pal rounded up $654,677. Respectively they have gathered impressive sums of $3,324,032, $2,976,406 and $2,574,082. The critically slaughtered reality flick THE REAL CANCUN managed to squeeze into the Top 10 with $560,060. Making a surprise entrance to the Top 10 was the drama I CAPTURE THE CASTLE. In its first week it managed $257,398. Down 24% from last week, the Paul Walker action flick 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS rounded out the Top 10. After 6 weeks its managed to pull together $13,538,890. Another sequel feeling the success is, of course, THE MATRIX: RELOADED. The film is, so far, the highest grossing movie of 2003 in Australia with #32,997,122. The seedy tale of Bob Crane as told in AUTO FOCUS didn't go unnoticed, but didn't make a big splash with a debut at #14 with $99,104. WHALE RIDER's incredible theatrical run is running down, but after 10 weeks it has $7,697,216. The film performed much better than I expected it too. Rising into the Top 20 this week is the animated flick HELP I'M A FISH. It's two week total is $190,621.

THIS WEEK (July 17th): He said he'd be back and indeed he is. The big guns are brough out this week with the return of Arnie Schwarzenegger as The Terminator in T3: RISE OF THE MACHINES. The James Cameron-less action sequel, also starring Kristanna Loken, Claire Danes and Nick Stahl, is the major release for this week, but it isn't the only film on the block. The drama PERSONAL VELOCITY starring Parker Posey, Kyea Sedgwick and Fairuza Balk gets a look in as does the Nick Nolte drama THE GOOD THIEF.

Regardless of what week they would've opened, I'm sure Personal Velocity and The Good Thief wouldn't of gone too well, but opening with T3 is only going to make things worse for Arnie's competition. It goes without saying really that Number 1 will belong to Mr Schwarzenegger next week.

Cool stuff. It's just too bad people are not responding as they should to Hulk but I hope, with time, it will be more understood and more appreciated.

FilmBuff, have you seen Help I'm a Fish or have any idea about it? I was thinking just a few days ago of renting it (available on DVD) but changed my mind and now I see it on the Aussie charts I'm giving it a second thought.

Good for Auto Focus that it managed to make it to #14. It's gonna get banned here, I guess. They can't cut all the sexual scenes because they'd cut a lot in this case, as I read..

I haven't seen Help I'm A Fish. It doesn't have a lot of cinema exposure, and I'm not really interested in seeing it. And i'm not sure if I see it hanging around in the charts much, because the school holidays over here are coming to a close, and it would've been because of that that the film moved in the Top 20.

I didn't think The Hulk was gonna fall as rapidly as it has. I would not of thought that at this point, Daddy Day care would have made more than it..

Shame Auto Focus may be getting the ban over there. I haven't seen it yet, but I want to, i've heard good things. Over here we get the uncut version, which apparently features some explicit shots in an oral sex scene. Weird we get to keep this in its uncut form and all the hoopla over Ken Park we have over here, oh well....

Good to hear from you again Jedi.

Yep kastman, Hulk isn't doing too well for itself. Out of the Marvel flicks, Spider-Man, X2 and Daredevil, released in the last year it hasn't gone as well. It has surpassed Daredevil however. At this point, 3 weeks of release, Spider-Man had a little over 23 million, X2 had over 13.5 million. It's a shame Hulk has obviosuly been a disappointment to many. I liked it, but I did think it dragged on too long, and its ending rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like it as much as the aforementioned Marvel flicks.

Eventually it will be available on DVD where it can be sold to people of certain age and in certain stores. I really wanted to see this in the movies (love Greg Kinnear) but, hummmm, apparently there's no way :( I hate it when they dok so but we're getting used to it. I contacted people in cinemas and they said the censors would have to cut more than 15 minutes and some dialogue so they thought better stop it as a whole instead of ripping it apart (as they did with Original Sin).

T3 of course will take the cake for No. 1 spot....
