View Full Version : The Simpsons Episode Tournament

Like the Sorpranos episode tournament, you simply vote for which Simpsons episode is better. The winning episode progresses to the next round against another episode, if it wins it keeps going, if it loses, the episode that beat it progresses. I will also be including a plotline to help you remember that episode.
For the first round:
Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire
Plot: It is Christmas time, but the Simpsons are in trouble. Marge spent all the Christmas money from the savings jar on removing a tatoo that Bart recieved, and Homer isn't getting a Christmas bonus. Broke, Homer tries to save the family's Christmas.
v.s
Bart The Genius
Plot: After switching his name with Martin's on an IQ test, Bart is mistakenly declared a genius. He gets transferred to a school for the gifted, but wants to get out.

Bart the Genius, cool tounament for one of the best television shows ever!
Thanks for starting up the tourney, Tom. Damn, I love this show.
As for my vote: Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire
"Don't worry, Dad. Maybe this is just for suspense before the miracle happens."
Bart The Genius, but not by much.
Two great episodes from season 1, anyone who says the early episodes suck needs to have his hat eaten by a bear.

The family go to Dr Marvin Monroe's (who was a crappy character) therapy clinic, and have the ability to shock each other. Bart and Lisa shock each other, then everyone else joins in and they all shock each other for a few minutes. Lights flicker on and off, then Monroe gives them twice their money back to get rid off them. It was used in "So It's Come To This" and is generally seen as one of the funniest scenes from Season 1, when it's just, well, not.

I didn't think the first Treehouse of Horror was all that great. My vote goes to Simpson and Delliah.

I think the only good thing about Treehouse of Horror was the alien story. The rest was fairly boring.

Ironic, isn't it Smithers? This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election. And yet, if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail! That's democracy for you.
Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish - Brilliant episode, in my top 3 of all time.
