STUPID IDIOTIC LOSERS HAVING THE NERVES TO CALL THEMSELVES "PUNKS" WHEN THEY PLAY ON TOTP AND STICK TO GENERIC MALL MUSIC HAVING THERE OWN LITTLE CLOTHLINE THAT THEY DONT SHUT UP ABOUT AND WHEN SOMEONE ASKS THEM QUESTIONS THEY BE STUPID COZ THEY HAVE NUTHING TO SAY............lets kill em.........
Nah, i'm kiddin (and i am very sorry for all the caps, i cant be bothered 2 right it again)
I sent a letter to kerrang! (a uk music mag)......
For The Lovely People At Kerrang! Mag...
Thank you for the Good Charlotte interview (K! 963, The People Vs Good Charlotte). Thank you for making me laugh until my ribs hurt. I’m sorry but OH MY GOD! When Davina Warnock asked “You were threatening to have a scrap with that scouse indie band The Coral because they called you a boy band with spikes: which part of that comment rang false for you?” They obviously had nothing to say, because they answered dumb stuff like “I like scuba diving” and “I have never heard of them” and when Sean Garrard said, “Why do you mention your Made clothing line in every interview?” They said, “I don’t even know what that is”. It seams Good Charlotte can’t give a good enough answer to anything they don’t want to talk about. They gave crap answers to loads of questions and they suck.
By the way, what the hell are the lyrics about? “Boys will laugh at girls when their not funny” what the hell does that mean? They are soooo talented, making up random stuff just so it rhymes! It just seams like Good Charlotte are just another Pop band wanting to be a “Punk band”. It just makes you think about all the other amazing bands that are way better than them who have gotten hardly anywhere. KiTTIE have had a real hard time, but still not many have heard of them, and they are 1000000 times better that Good Charlotte.

I've only heard two songs of theirs. And I hope that's all I ever hear.
They are HORRIBLE.

Eh, some of their stuff is kind of catchy. I don't mind it. It is sad though that a supposed punk band shamelessly promotes its clothing at every chance. And it seems they've adopted the blink 182 approach: just say random dumb stuff and people will think you're funny or crazy or something. Oh well whatever. Pop punk is ok, but distinction between GC, Simple Plan, blink 182 etc and Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise etc is quite clear.

I think what he's trying to say is that guys will do anything to get girls or something. He's just not saying it very well. Their lyrics definately aren't their strong suit.

Urg. Good Charlotte is a horrible band. Whoever said that they are just another boy band with spikes is a genius. That is really what they are. The music companies are noticing tha punk music has a huge fanbase so they're hiring "punk" bands to their music labels and giving them mega success. Of course they make them to have really horrible songs and such. Sure i don't like punk music but punk music songs are better than THAT. I have a friend who obsesses over them and thinks the singers are so hot and stuff. I just tell them that she'll drop them when the next thing comes along like she always does. But she always disagrees. Oh well. Maybe GOOD music will be mainstream someday. It used to be.

I only cared about Good Charolette because they were from my area and my older sister knew them. Now I see how much they suck at almost everyhting they do. Look at there guitarist, I'm not saying that I don't dress somewhat abnormal but whoever needs 3-foot high liberty spike hair extensions has some serious self-esteem issues. LeVel-27 (the drummers clothing line) does have some good clothes though.

I...hate...this...band...so...much
I write for my school newspaper and I did an editorial about how the people who think they're punks are dumbasses because they don't even know what punk is because it seems that people just think punk is a fashion style, when it is soooo much more then that. And in the article I blasted the shit out of Good Charlotte, so many people were pissed, but then this one faggot wrote an article that appeared after mine talking about how following a trend shows individuality... But he is one of those punk bitches that I made fun of.

i wore my jacket at work the other day because the a/c was too high. it's a black suit jacket with an independents patch and a few horror punk band and horror movie pins on it. this guy comes up to me, and asks if, because of my jacket, i like good charlotte. i gave him a look and said "ew" so he questioned my response. all i said was "because they suck and because they think they're punk, and by calling themselves that, they are leading the kids to think they are and essentially killing the scene."he looked at me like he didn't know what i was talking about and walked away with a sad look on his face. i laughed.

When their first album came out, I thought that they were okay, but definately nothing special. I'd heard it all before, but I'd pick it over, say, Simple Plan. It seems like they just weren't as known then (but I could be wrong). When I heard the single for the next album (which I thought could have been a good idea), I was disgusted. Who writes this shit? As soon as the "lifestyles of the rich and famous, they're always complaining" lyric came up I immediately shut it off. Oh, real deep, guys. All rich people are whiny, selfish bastards who don't care about anyone else. I'm sure that the wholesome, middle-class, rebellious existence that you stand for is still the way to live now.
Oh well. Like mentioned earlier, I seem to hate everything that's popular. Not because it's popular, because it sucks. I think that right now TV (reality shows have gone beyond ridiculous) and and Music are at it's low points. There is still some good stuff out there, I know, but the ones that get the majority of shameless media attention just piss me off. The whole punk thing has been commercialized too. If your gonna have the "punk" attitude, then stop whoring it for money.
At least the whole pop thing is starting to die off. I just don't bother with MTV anymore.

Same here dude, I like punk music and the other rock stuff but I just hate these guys. Sad thing is, mostly people I know who like them just nod their head slightly and don't jump up and down like I and many others do when our favourite bands play. Poor people :( I pity them.

I guess I am in the minority on this one but I am a huge GC fan their music is catchy and good imo. I have never ever read or seen an article where they actually call themselves punk. And for another fact they do not mention Made in every article actually I have never read an article where they tlak about made unless asked too. Minor Threat The Sex Pistols and The Clash and The Misfits are a few of my favorite bands by the way. I know many people are extremely annoyed with GC's guitarist Benji he does seem sorta out of place with GC considering he listens to The Misfits and The Casualties he is kinda the reason gc looks like such punk wannabes. Joel listens to stuff like The Beastie Boys and does not consider himself to be punk. Billy likes Micheal Jackson and Paul is really unknown and neither of them like the spotlight (joel and benji are the ones who are on the tv all the time) their videos are played on TRL that isn't their fault that their music is liked by alot of people and sometimes people call them punks but they have not called themselves that.

actually i have seen both of those bands live, and can say that neither one of them could ever be called a good band. Slipknot are terrible live and are just a little one-dimensional to begin with. and Kittie just suck. i hate to say that with backing it up at all, but their songs are crap, they were crap live and i hate the girls voice with a passion. so they suck.

Is there some rule that to be a Good Charlotte fan, you have to be no more than 15 years of age and have an IQ of not much more than that? Did I miss the meeting about this? I mean, from my observations, that seems to be the majority of Good Charlotte fans.

Well, technically, it kind of is. All the stuff on TRL is manufactured to meet what the youth of america want. GC puts out this crap, so therefore it kind of is their fault. And do you think they hate being in that stupid top 10 thing? No, for they are probably drowning in a sea of money right now.........
And I hate them so.

No I have never heard of that rule.... Well I guess your 'observations' are incorrect because I happen to know people in their late 30's-40's who like GC also at their concert there were some elderly women who looked around the age of 60. By the way my IQ is much higher then that. :p

Hey PF, that's great that you can be categorized so easily. Most people in the US who have at least a shred of self-respect would reject such one-dimensional stereotypes and would in fact be quite insulted if you asked them to pigeonhole themselves in that way.

Surprisingly, I have to agree with Dark on this one....people's obsession with labels is so stupid... although I think I'm a little past the demographic where thats such a big deal.
btw, does it really bug anyone else when people use the number '2' instead of 'to'?

I think it's bullshit how people can be categorized by what kind of clothes they wear. I know people who have to buy all these certain kinds of clothes and look like a "punk" or a "skater". Now hold on a goddam minute...
...I always defined "preps" as people who care too much about what kind of clothes they buy. If a kid buys a bunch of quiksilver and dc shirts (not because he skates, but because he has to LOOK like a skater) I would have to think that kid is pretty pathetic.
YOU ARE NOT YOUR CLOTHES. And sorry if I offended anyone but I have some very strong feelings against stereotypes-by-clothes. Wear whatever's cheap, comfortable, and is what you like. Don't buy clothes to fit in with a "category". Those kinds of stereotypes end up forming groups against each other.
course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong

You took the words right out my mouth. I think catagorizing things such as punk by the clothing is really a contradiction of the whole idea of "punk". That's really just one example in particular that comes to mind though, I agree whole-heartedly with you on the whole thing... a pair of Nikes doesn't make you a certain kind of person.
