I love the first single, Creatures. I cant wait for the new album. I thought From Chaos was pretty good. So I have faith in their new one.

Me to.

I cant wait until tuesday to get the new album.

I also cant wait to see the live show. I have tickets to two of the shows on this tour. One in Chicago and one in Milwaukee. Should be a great time.

Its a good time to be a 311 fan.

I just got back from their concert tonight....it was THE BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD.

I'm a bit miffed that they weren't selling the new CD at the show....:(

I am really glad to hear that! I am seeing them in concert with some buddies in august. I have always loved them and I've been aching to see them live. Yay!

Awesome.

311 is by far one of the best live bands around. (I know that my opinion is slightly biased, but its true I swear).

I am real excited for the upcoming shows. It says on the 311 website that they will be mixing up the setlists quite a bit this time around. There are so many favorites of mine that I havent seen them play in quite awhile. And I still have never seen them play "Uncalm" live. Damn thats my favorite song from Soundsystem.

Only one more day until the new album comes out. I am excited.

"Uncalm" is off of From Chaos....;)

I know because it's my favorite off the CD also.

They played a ton of older stuff at the concert the other day. 3 songs off of Evolver, 3 off of From Chaos(I think) and that was it...

Of course you are right. How embarrassing.

Anyone pick up Evolver yet? I'm just about to head out the door for my copy.

I downloaded half of the songs yesterday....but I'll wait until I listen to the whole CD to pass judgment.

I had my wife pick it up from the store on her way home from work (and you wondered why a guy would get married, its so you can send her on your errands of course!). So I will head home soon to give it a listen or three.

When you give it a good listen, can you let me know which songs you like the best? I'd like to download a few but I don't know what the best on the album are. Thanks :)

This is what I posted on another forum after listening to it the first time through...

Well, I just finished listening to Evolver for the first time all the way through....

That was....different.

Not bad, not great. They can't really decide whether they want to be "Amber" or "Down"....if you know what I mean. I would've totally changed the order of the songs. You start off the CD with loud stuff then go to a calm song then quickly back to loud. It's a bit odd.

I hope someone else gives it a listen and says their opinion.

I've listened to it about 3 more times today, and it gets better every time.

Download "Crack The Code".....if you like that, you'll probably enjoy the whole CD.

I really enjoy "Sometimes Jacks Rule The Realm" for some odd reason too.

They next tour is gonna be a very different experience if they play a lot of this material.

Like HHH said... Crack the Code, Jacks Rule the Realm are great songs. I also really like Beyond the Gray Sky and The Other Side of Things.

Actually to be honest, I really like the whole album.

I've listened to it three times since getting it last night (much thanks to the wife as always). And it is damn good!

Getting a new 311 album is like Christmas and a birthday rolled into one. I was so excited all day yesterday and now I am just sitting back and enjoying the gift.

I have a week to absorb the songs so I can be ready to hear them at the 2 shows I will attend next week!

As I said before, its a good time to be a 311 fan.

Wow, what a beautiful album. It is far more mellow than some of their other albums and many of the songs send me into a sort of poetic hypnotic trance. I am seeing them TONIGHT in concert so naturally I am very excited about it. This will be my first 311 experience live, and I've loved them for years.

My favorite song on the album is Sometimes Jacks Rule The Realm. I cannot stop listening to it. In fact, I would recommend this song to people who aren't even 311 fans because I think it just might convert anyone.

I thought the same thing, but there is a problem with recommending SJRTR.....it's not the norm for 311. So if you are trying to sell someone on the CD, that track might not be the best choice although it may be the best song on the album.

That is true. The thing with 311 is that they have many different songs with many different sounds. Someone might love "Amber" and then hear "Livin and Rockin" and not even recognize them. They are a tough band to recommend songs to download since there is such a wide variety.
