that trailer is pretty cool. i saw a brief picture of the hook in this trailer so we know were going to get that. it also had that scary picture taking sound music that was in the first. the official site is up to. there is a link to it on the post above. i am really excited about this movie.

It looks like it should be a totally different movie, and not labelled TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. It was intriguing, but also looks like it won't follow the original at all. Also, I hate Leatherface's new mask SO much. It looks so dumb.

I'm not being negative! I'm being honest about my opinion. I think it looks interesting, but I feel it should not be called TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and that Leatherface's new mask sucks.

After hearing about the MICHAEL BAY factor i expected nothing but crap crap crap. The trailer makes it look better than I thought it would be. I'll watch it, as for the mask I didn't think it looked THAT bad.

Why the hell do they name this movie the same as the first!? I know it's a remake, but shouldn't they as least add a subtitle like "The Revenge of Latherface" or something? Not to get mess up.

Well they`re calling it a "remake", but it really isn`t - the story and characters are different.
It`s basically just "TCM Part 5", but the studio doesn`t want to call it that because it might turn people off.

I think something like "Family Values: The Return Of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre" would be cool - if perhaps a little long-winded.

I honesly wasn't looking forward to this movie until I saw the trailer about three minutes ago. It looks great and very different to the original. As far as I go the movie has to good things going for it, a great trailer and Jessica.

The thing that I'm worried about in the remake is that the characters will react in stupid ways. What I loved about the original TCM (and Halloween) was that the victims never even knew about the killer until near the end. This prevented them from doing stupid stuff, like not getting out of town.

Well, can't judge the film by its trailer. I'm still going to see this.

Well I just saw the trailer, and so far it looks good. The characters seem to have more depth in this one, but I'm going to wait for a review before I go see this one.

Ugh, I just don't know. It looks like it may end up being better than the original (which I despise), but the characters all seem way too annoying for my taste. I think my extreme dislike for said original will ultimately keep me from seeing this in the theatre, or on DVD for that matter.

I really like the looks of the trailer with the following exceptions:
-the film looks like it'll have too much style and not feel as documentary-ish as the original (which was what made it so scary, to me at least).
-Leatherface's mask looks too soft and nice...i mean, it's a mask of human skin! Unless he updates faces regularily, it should be a bit more crisp, IMO.
-"What the hell was that?!" from Jessica Biel just sounded waaaay too unconvincing and not frightened. What made the origianl so scary (othet than the lack of style, lol) were the amazingly genuine performances. IMO, the success/failure of this films really does rely on the acting. I don't care if they change the story (which they've obviously done), add in some cool style and tone-down the murders...as long as the acting is rock-solid, I'm there.

cool trailer - but as for the song, its a Tim Buckley cover 'Song to the Siren". no idea who is singing it this time though.

the original is the most beautiful thing in the world......

Ok so I jes' saw the trailer and well.........it does lookin interestin'. Obviously they've added some new elements as well as characters in general (Not jes' the actors.) That opening song is beautiful. Have to get it but anywayz, I agree with Rushmore Beauty -"What the hell was that?!" from Jessica Biel just sounded waaaay too unconvincing and not frightened I have a feelin' the acting isn't going to be all that great in this film.

Hopefully when I do see this those thoughts will be wrong..but we'll see. I agree with Shatter, I'm waiting for a couple reviews before I see this TCM.

I've bashed this movie since day one but I have to admit the trailer is impressive...except I don't think I liked that glimpse of leatherface...he looked a little goofy and if he doesn't work and none of it works. All in all it still feels like Texas Chainsaw Massacre 5 and not a remake...

That's probably why they added a 1973 title card to the trailer, because it does look more like a sequel than a remake. I mean, it feels like a brand new Part 2 (like Halloween H20) with the weirded-out survivor running around.

i totally agree about the documentary vs. stylized difference between the original and the remake. the original has kind of the same feel as "the blair witch project," in that it seems so real and that's part of the fear factor. giving it a more cinematic "movie" feel takes that away from it.

and i don't like jessica biel - i never get the sense she's acting.

the trailer makes me slightly more interested than i was, but not enough to see it in theatres unless some seriously positive word-of-mouth starts circulating.

Saw the trailer tonight before Bad Boys 2 and it looked ok. It looks bad, but it also looks highly entertaining, and the cinematography looks pretty good. It will be appeasing to the eye, but that's it.

The song is “Song to the Siren” by This Mortal Coil; a beautiful song that was used in Lost Highway.

As for the trailer; I dug the style and it looks different enough from the original to stand on it own as opposed to being just a pointless shot by shot retread (a la Psycho remake). Having said that;being a huge fan of the original TCM, I of course would have wished they had called the film something else.

even though the original is one of my tops, and i have been very anxious about this remake for months..i do have to confess that from the looks of the trailer, i might actually go check this one out. it doesn't look half bad. at least they based it on TCM and didn't make an exact remake (well almost exact...like Psycho). that indeed makes me more interested. Bring it on!

The_Tall_Man

I don't know... granted, I'm sure it'll at least be entertaining -- I can't say that I'm really looking forward to it anymore after watching the trailer. For one, as has been mentioned before, the whole "documentary" style is gone, and what's left is a nice, polished piece of Hollywood horror. I think one of the clearest signs of this can be seen in the house they chose as the Sawyer home. It's so neat... so tidy. So... HOLLYWOOD.

As much as I hate to say it, 'cause I personally hated the film: even the house chosen in House of 1000 Corpses was creepier.

I don't understand the need to remake classics like these -- I really don't. Regardless, history has shown us that once in a while Hollywood can get lucky and produce a decent remake (top of the list in my mind is the remake of House on Haunted Hill) -- so we'll have to hope for the best in this case. ;)

Yeah the trailer looks decent but I am still not going to go pay nine bucks to go see it. I will wait for a free rental. They need to lose the based on true events shit and I also noticed they used the year 1973 in the trailer so I assume that this will all take place in that year and if that is true there better not be any modern shit or talk in this movie or I am going to be pissed. If you are going to be a remake be a remake and if you are going to be of a certain era stick to that era period.

I'm with everyone else. The trailer looks interesting but doesn't seem to have hardly any similarities to the original. Therefore....how is it a remake??? More like just another set of kids running into the leatherface clan.

The only thing I didn't care for in the trailer was when Biel was asking "What's wrong with these people!?!" and the woman's like "My..." WTF is that?

Another thing I noticed: The original had a lot of isolation/single locations going on. The kids got there and basically stayed somewhat. The trailer showed shots all over the place. Was that a scene of a well?? Was she ever in town during panic?? Unless some major changes took over (which I guess they did) this looks pretty different.

I didn't care for Jessicas' character much on Seventh Heaven, which I used to watch religiously. I always thought her acting could stand improving upon. BUT in the trailer she seemed right on the mark so maybe horror's more her thing.

I got to admit, I was totally 100 percent sure this movie was going to be a piece of shchitt but!! After seeing the commercial for this before Freddy Vs. Jason, I think I have to put my foot in my mouth, the commercial had some creepy visuals as well as some interesting new characters added... I think this may be one remake that almost surpasses the original... Case in point Night Of The Living Dead 1990.

Yeah I know, alot of people think so... But I don't know what about it I like so much, I just liked it alot better then the original.. Sure the original had the great Racial statement at the end, the remake was just cool. It had some kickass zombies and I am always a fan of that. And it didn't drag on as much as the original...

Hopefully this remake will be the same, a new spin on a old thing.. Not a shot for shot remake.

Don't worry. I prefered the new version to the original as well. But that's just me, I'm a sucker for eye candy and things that generally look better. Having said that, I will definately be seeing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. Luckly, I won't be biased by my opinion of the original, because, I've never seen it. I may check it out when it gets released on DVD with that meat package cover though.
