I personally LOVE sequels and i'm tired of people thinking they are inferior to the originals! I decided to make this thread to reconize all the great sequels out there, who don't get reconized.

Lets discuss great sequels :)

I also feel DREAM WARRIORS was better then the first.

The originals are just there to set up the sequels.

JASON LIVES & THE NEW BLOOD were better then FRIDAY THE 13TH and HALLOWEEN 4 was better then HALLOWEEN

I like ANOES 4 best. Also Halloween 4 and F13th part 4. It's really a coincidence that I like 4 of every one of those series.

Also: Silent Night Deadly Night 2 is GREAT, Pirahna 2 and Wishmaster 2.

Pumpkinhead 1 and 2 are both great as well.

Call me crazy but I really have this guilty pleasure for I Still Know What You Did Last Summer...I like it way better than the first...and I also think that Jason X is the best sequel in the series. Okay start the backlash....

Even Mission To Moscow Claw? Even Mission To Moscow?

MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!
The day is mine again....

And back on topic, I like sequels, just some films really don't need one. Jeepers Creepers needs one, yet Frailty does not. See what I mean? No? Confused? Have a skittle and put your mind to
ease.....

Skittles make everything all better...

I think Return to Oz is the scariest sequel ever, even to the classic Wizard of Oz.

But on a terrible note, not really horror, but when the word sequels come up, you cant really help but to mention the mother of all bad sequels...

---MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNIHILATION---

Oh god. How bad. I can't only name one thing wrong to this movie. How about Jimmy Remar as Rayden? I respect the guy as an actor, and I respect that he didnt try to recreate Lambert's version of Rayden... but wow... couldn't he be a little more convincing? How about getting that haircut in the MIDDLE OF THE END OF THE WORLD?! Ohh... the worlds ending! Better get a haicut... And lets not forget the cheesefest that was the dialogue (The Earth was created in six days; so too shall it be destroyed; and on the seventh day, mankind will rest... in peace!) and can't forget (Cool, huh? It's my Animality.)

Sub Zero can now fly while frezing things? Jax's steel arms look like styrofoam? Ugh.

Also a fan of great sequels.

Hellraiser 2 was excellent, liked it better than the first in some ways. 3 was watchable but bad on many levels, 4 the same, 5 good.

Friday the 13th - firt overrated. Second better, like third, fourth, loved fifth, sixth, seventh, eight watchable

NOES - 1, 3, new nightmare the best, others watchable (except part 6)

Halloween - Liked 2 better than 1. 3 good, 4 and 5 ok, 6 good, 7 bad

Childs Play - 1st good, 2nd good in a different way, 3 and 4 enjoyable on different levels

Leprechauns - the first 2

Critters - the first 2

Sleepaway camp - all of them

Howling - 1's the best but also loved part 5

Alien - the whole series

Yep, a fan of sequels

I can't believe no one has said Dawn of the dead. It surpasses the original by a long run. Also ED2 I felt was superior.

I agree with psycho dude Dawn of the Dead is a great sequel.
Halloween 2
Jaws 2 - I liked this one but not as much as the original

Well these are the two series where I can`t decide. both Alien-Aliens and Terminator-Terminator 2 are equal in my eyes.

Alien had just amazing sets. The art of H.R.Giger on the alien planet was just amazing. The best part of the movie was the design, without a doubt in my eyes....

Wait, getting a little out of course and missing the subject.

Anywho, many sequels are cool and some suck. I neither hate nor love sequels.

Final Destination 2 was a blast. Evil Spkie was dead on, Return to Oz was the scariest sequel ever, possibly the most unbderrated, too.

Finally someone who agree with me... Return to Oz... creepy...

Dawn of the Dead was good, but not as good as the original NOTLD.

Sorry, but I find that sequels are almost never as good as the original. However, I enjoyed most of the Friday the 13th sequels to the first one. I believe Part 2 (6.5/10), Part 3 (6/10), The Final Chapter (6/10), Jason Lives (6.5/10), The New Blood (6/10), Jason Goes To Hell (5/10) and Jason X (4.5/10) were all superior to the original Friday the 13th (4.5/10).

Alien and Aliens are neck-and-neck, but if I were forced to choose which is better, I'd probably choose Alien. I won't be sure until I see it again.

I agree...ED2 was indeed better than the first one....However!

Blasphemy! NOTLD I believe is better than Dawn of the Dead. Don't get me wrong I loooove Dawn of the Dead but I don't think its better. Then again thats jes' what I think. ;)

I did like Aliens better than Alien...yet when it comes to the I know what you did last summer and the Screams however I hated the first one's and hated the sequels...

I guess I'd be mutual on sequels considering some I love and some I hate.

Alien vs Aliens...hm. I don't compare these two because they're so different. One was more serious with completely different directing and buildup. 2 was more action-packed and of a different vein.

The same can be said for evil deads...1 was serious, the second more comedic.

So I enjoy them all on their own merit when they differ this much. Or else I just like them all so much I don't want to split hairs :p

I think these sequels are better than the originals:

Phantasm II
Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers
Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers
Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland
Hellbound: Hellraiser II
Subspecies IV: BloodStorm
Basket Case 2
American Psycho 2
Aliens

I think the cheesiest sequel ever made that ruined the original was " Howling II"

You think American Psycho 2 was better than the original??? Wow...i thought American Psycho 2 was awful..i didn't even finish watching it. The original is a masterpiece, and Christian Bale should have won an academy award for his performance. That's my opinion anyway.

As for Aliens, i liked the original Alien alot more and it is one of my favorite movies ever. But alot of schmoes like Aliens more so i can't rag on you for that.

BUT AMERICAN PSYCHO 2??!! Wowzers. That's sacrilage.

Well, we all post our own opinions dont we? well in my opinion, i loved American Psycho 2 way better than the first. Way more interesting,**spoilers*** and this actually turned out to be real. I dont like those type of movies were everything turns out to be false. It's like watching a complete lie after sitting there for an hour and several minutes. Im not saying American Psycho is bad, just liked the second one better.
