For me, the most emotional song ever has to be Eric Clapton's Tears In Heaven, the lyrics, the tone of Clapton's voice, and the overall mood of the song really got to me- I was almost in tears listening to it. Which songs do you think are the most emotional?

Nilsson's Without You is tough to beat.

Very, very powerful. Hard to listen to sometimes...

You said it mate. It's even more emotional because it's written about his dead son.

My other is the incredibly moving, 'Don't Dream It's Over' by Crowded House.

"Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton *I always break into tears when I hear it*

"Knights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues *For some reason the music and the words always brings a tear to my eye*

"Love Song For A Vampire" by Annie Lennox *same reasons as above basically*

"Don't Dream It's Over" by Crowded House *I don't cry, I get really contemplative whenever I hear this*

It's 100% schmaltz. And I was nauseated how Clapton turned his son's death into a hit single (and tidy profit) for himself.

Um. Since I just made a thread about how Elliott Smith gets me all choked, I will probably say one of his. Today, I'll go with "I Figured You Out".
