Documentary tracing the extraordinary life and career of Stuart Goddard, better known as former pop star Adam Ant. At the peak of his pop career in the 1980s, fronting his band Adam and the Ants, he sold records by the million and adorned thousands of bedroom walls and magazine covers. But behind the number one successes, such as Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming, and the money and glamour of the pop industry, Adam fought a daily battle with depression and personal demons that threatened to overwhelm him. The film presents a frank portrait of a man plagued by mental illness, from his glory days to his spectacular fall from grace, culminating in his arrest after an incident in a London pub in 2002.

Sounds like an intriguing little programme.

I shall post my thoughts later on this evening.

God dammit!

Wish I could see it here. I was an Ant fanatic back in the day.

Poor dude huh!?

He looks like a big potato...and BOY is he feeling a bit down.

Hmmmm, this wasn't as insightful as I would have liked, but it was entertaining and educational nonetheless.

Poor guy...shame their was nothing about his recent rampage down at the Curly Dog.

As amusing as his plight can be (the recent incident was kinda funny in a sad and tragic way) I really do feel sorry for the dude. I hope he pulls himself together and doesn't become another rock 'n' roll statistic. :(

Fascinating program!

As a long term Ant fan (Kings of the Wild Frontier was the second album I ever bought, after Tubeway Army's Replicas), I feel sorry for Mr Ant, but it was great that so many people had positive things to say about him (even Paul Morley!).

In honour of the program I've created a 15 minute Ants Mega-Mix, which you can download by right clicking on the link below!
