I can't wait for this, but I'm still angry TCM 2 couldn't get this kind of treatment.

The uncut version is just the ORIGINAL UNCUT CLASSIC version on video. But they do have the deleted footage in the special features department.

Is the R-rated version available on video as well or is that just for the DVD?

I've only seen the deleted gore seperetely from the film. The unrated cut is banned in Ontario.

Initially, I said that I wouldn't buy this DVD if the deleted scenes weren't woven into the film, but I might change my mind. The commentary should be interesting, if only to hear how exactly Jeff Burr was anally raped by New Line.

Erin, I copied this from Amazon...

Commentary by director Tobe Hooper, director of photography Daniel Pearl, and star Gunnar Hansen
Theatrical trailer(s)
Deleted scenes and alternate footage
Blooper reel
Trailers for other "Chainsaw" movies
Still photos
Posters and collectibles
Widescreen letterbox format

Both Count and W.E. - a big thank you. Looks like there are now 2 TCM's I'm replacing on dvd from vhs. These extras can't be looked over.

And W.E. I didn't know about that link before -- a big help for me when pinching pennies. Thanks again to you both,

Erin

Wait a minute! TCM 3 will not have the ACTUAL UNCUT VERSION in one piece while being paired with R-rated version? That sucks! I don't want to have to watch "The original 'uncut' original" and then have to revert to the special features section for the ACTUAL UNCUT footage. It should be all in one piece, as the ACTUAL UNCUT VERSION w/should be. Sorry if I'm yelling.

No, he means the non-gory deleted scenes will be in the special features, the unrated gory cut is the uncut version and will be on the disc. The deleted footage is stuff that was trimmed due to time constraints.

Oh, thank goodness! I just don't want this to be a scam-job like the VHS "Original 'uncut' version' of TCM 3 and also like the "Darkness Falls" DVD which doesn't have the R-rated full cut in one piece and still is the cheap PG-13 cut, but the with R-rated deleted stuff as special features. I know, they were unable to do an R-rated director's cut of that, but it just sucks that the studio behind it screwed up the movie.

Similar to the way New Line treated Jason Goes To Hell (which I feel is a good movie, just not one that I'd watch over again, if you catch my drift). By the way guys, I'm still at a crossroad here as to what to do, as Arrow gave this one a pretty lousy score (I trust Arrow on most of his reviews, as he pretty much is on the ball). Don't hate me for saying this sort of thing, I just want to make sure I don't make a big mistake.

I don't understand why Arrow dislikes this movie so much, it's an awesome sequel. I say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

There still seems to be some confusion as to what this "uncut" version will entail. I won't know for sure until I see the running time, but this "uncut" version should only run for 84 minutes, and it won't be terribly gory. As Jaywolf stated, this version is already available on VHS. The deleted scenes won't just consist of expository material that was cut for time constraints. So basically, we’re still getting fucked, but at least the deleted scenes have been brought to light.

Didn't really like part 3. I didn't really like any of the sequels. Question, why is it that the Leatherface on the cover looks far far different from the Leatherface in the actual movie?

i didn't know that TCM 3 was so popular i though everyone hated the sequels to TCM

He doesn't look that different to me. It seems like an accurate silhouette.

Damn OFRB the same thing happened to the unrated version of Dead Alive. I remember looking all over the place for it to buy and finally someone told me it's totally unavailable in Ontario. The same thing with The Beyond but i eventually bought the damn thing online. Americans are so lucky their government can't regulate and ban films like here in Canada.

Probably because there were issues over rights to use the old look or something. Maybe they wanted to update Leatherface so that he looked scarier?

I know, at least now Dead Alive and The Beyond are available here in Ottawa. They allow Baise-Moi but they ban
TCM III?!?!?!?!?

Anyway, they even banned Fat Girl!!!! But they're playing it on TMN!

This is an awesome movie though and the uncut version has all the cool gore missing from the tame R-Rated version.

It kicks major ass, do you have the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre on DVD? If you do, the trailer for part III is on it.
