BestBuy DVD Woes

Purchased Planet of the Apes at BestBuy. The DVD distorts and locks at about chapter 15. We replaced the DVD, and same thing happens to the replacement, a bit earlier in the movie. Has anyone had similar problems with this movie or store?
We play many DVD's (both owned and rented) on our Toshiba SD-1600 with no problems.

Did you check to see if the DVD is clean? Distortion and freezing generally occurs when there's grit and grime on the DVD itself. It doesn't sound like a Best Buy problem, but a problem of someone getting their fingers all over the side that should be clean.
