Arguably one of the Kings of Film Noir, Robert Mitchum was, regardless, talented as he was enigmatic. In between being a force to be reckoned with on screen (for example as the malevolent Rev. Harry Powell in "Night of the Hunter" or Max Cady in "Cape Fear") he also wrote works of poetry and recorded a few albums. Who can foget the way this man expressed his character's emotions through their eyes? It makes one wonder whether or not he was acting or he actually FELT what he and his eyes conveyed. A definate revelation in cinema. A huge YAY from me. What are your thoughts?
"Bob is one of the best actors in the world. In addition he can imitate any accent there is....He has great talent. He'd make the best Macbeth of any actor living. All his tough talk is a blind, you know. He's a literate, gracious, kind man, with wonderful manners, and he speaks beautifully - when he wants too. He's a very tender man and a very real gentleman. You know he's really terribly shy. I can tell you one thing: he won't thank you for destroying the image he has built up as a defense... He's one of my very favorite people in the whole world. I can't praise him too much."
Charles Laughton,
director of NIGHT OF THE HUNTER

YAY.

His performance in NIGHT OF THE HUNTER ranks up there with the best ever, for me.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

His performance in NIGHT OF THE HUNTER alone could get him a big YAY from me, and he's just so brilliant in all the rest of his films too.
