You know how every year there's usually a hit song in the summer that gets really popular? I was curious if anyone remembered some summer songs from the past. I have a somewhat bad memory but I think Shaggy had a hit that time(bleech). Of course this year I was hoping it would be the ultra catchy Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne but it seems to be Where is the Love? by Black Eyed Peas. Oh well I mean that's a catchy song too. Does anyone remember any good summer songs in the past?

A Summer Song ~ Chad & Jeremy (probably the best one ever)

Summer In The City ~ The Lovin' Spoonful (a close second)

Summertime, Summertime ~ The Jamies (cheesy but very, very catchy)

Sunny Afternoon ~ The Kinks (another of the coolest ones ever )

Pipeline ~ Chantay's (one of the best surf instrumental tunes)

Sealed With A Kiss ~ Brian Hyland (best nostalgic summer song)

Good Vibrations ~ The Beach Boys (any Beach Boys song will do but this is easily one of their best)

Palisades Park ~ Freddy Cannon (co-written by assassin Chuck Barris ;) and an ultra-cool track)


someguy, the song you were thinking of was "Summer Time" by Shaggy (featuring Rayvon). It samples the aforementioned "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry.

I'm not surprised with Shaggy doing a cover. Every song he came out with was done before.
