View Full Version : "O" DVD?
Could anyone tell me anything about the DVD they are releasing for the movie "O". Will it be in widescreen or fullscreen? What extras will it have? Any info would be great, thank you...

It will probably only be widescreen...
And due to the poor and embarassing box office results the studio probably won't waste much money on extras....
It cost $3mil to produce and made about $16.5mil. sure it had a steep drop 2nd week but it still made a good chunk of change for lion's gate.

Well Horror Whore, it really didn't do that bad at the Box Office since it only started out on 1,400 screens and it didn't really go any wider. Plus, the smart teen movies usually don't make much money at the Box Office. And a lot of the movies that don't do that great at the Box Office get Special Edition DVD's with tons of extras and the big B.O. hits usually have shitty DVD's with barely any extras.
Plus, like HBO said it only cost 3 Million to produce so it was successful for Lions Gate and they didn't lose any money.
So, who knows. I hope it has a good DVD because I plan on buying it.

O is going to be a 2-disc set, with a ton of extras along with the movie on the first disc, while the second disc includes the original silent version of Othello with restored audio and video. This should be a great disc
Really? That's awesome. I'm definately buying it.

I don't think it had poor quality at all. "O" was excellent in my opinion, it's the third best movie of the year and the ending was great and very powerful. I can't wait for the DVD.
I will buy the DVD with or without features, althoguh i would love a commentary and deleted scenes (if any) and interviews with the cast and filmmakers about all the controversy around it.
I also like O very much and id give it a 9/10 with powerful performances all around, especially by Josh Harnett, and Tim Blake Nelson did a great job at directing and giving a feel to the film that is powerful and provacative.
I'd also give it a 9/10...
This is what the Special 2-disc DVD will have on it:
Features:
-Production Commentary by Director, Julia Stiles and Cinematographer
-Scene Access
-Interactive Menus
-Music-Only Track
-Trailer
-Disc Two Features The Classic Film "Othello" with a New Score and Commentary
-Cast and Crew Interviews
-Deleted Scenes
Video:
-Widescreen 1.85:1
-Standard 1.33:1
Audio:
-ENGLISH: Dolby Digital 5.1 [CC]
Subtitles:
-English, Spanish
It sounds like a good DVD to me and one I will definately be adding to my collection.

That sounds like an awesome DVD. I saw it on the only week it was at my theater, I'd give it an 8/10 so I'll certainly be buying it.
It comes out February 19th, which seems like a long time to have to wait http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif I guess I'll learn the art of patience a bit more.
