IMDB SUMMARY
Kim Basinger plays a woman who is kidnapped and locked in the back of a killer's car. Her only hope is a small, cellular phone she holds. She calls for help, and now the police must find out where she is before it's too late.
A young man (Evans) receives a call on his cellular phone from a woman (Basinger) who says she's been kidnapped, and thinks she's going to be killed soon, along with her husband and son who the kidnappers have gone after next. The catch? She doesn't know where she is... and his cell phone battery might go dead soon.
Its directed by DAVID R. ELLIS who directed FINAL DESTINATION 2

Sounds promising...kinda like PhoneBooth or Panic Room, one of those movies that is only set in one place but keeps the viewers attention the whole time.

I heard about this a while back, Larry Cohen (Writer of Phone Booth) wrote the screen play. That means this movie is going to be either very good or at least have a good script.

I read a script review for this awhile back- can't remember the site though, sorry. It sounds promising in terms of plot, but i have a feeling it will fail because of it's cast. Kim Basinger hasn't headlined a hit movie in years (L.A Confidential doesn't count, in would have been the same without her, regardless of what the academy says). There ARE worse choices that could have made, but i can't quite believe that with the all the actresses in Hollywood at the moment like Kidman or Watts, that they chose to go with Basinger. The only reason i can think of is that she was cheap. Moreover the guy is set to be played by Chris Evans of NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE "fame". That choice is just as confusing as several directors suddenly deciding that ASHTON KUTCHER will make a good serious actor. Granted it might be alittle early to dismiss Evans, but again i can't see why they couldn't find a young "name" actor to play the part.
Ordinarily i don't place as much importance on performance, but as Phone Booth proved, people's opinions differed depending on how they rated Farrell as an actor.

wow this film sounds badass.....except i'm not that big a fan of old Kimmy and i'm kinda suprised about Chris Evans being in it....hmmm weird...anyway i'm still pretty excited about this now!! sounds great
would have been even greater if they had better actors in the role of the leads but i ain't seen the film so i can't criticise them just yet...but right now it sound pretty badass :D

:o Yet another gimmick film.
Hopefully, it will be better than PHONEBOOTH or PANIC ROOM. The gimmicks of those two films looked good on paper, but was somewhat tedious on the big screen (IMHO).

Dark Horizons reports that William H Macy may be joining the cast, which i think sounds like a great idea. No word yet on the role, but i guess it could be the kidnapper or a cop or something. I'd like to see him as a creepy kidnapper like Robin Williams in OHP.
As for a Kim Basinger shirtless scene- c'mon she's like 50!!! I'd rather see Anne Robison or Paula Abdul naked.........o.k second thought, maybe not......but Basinger is definetly past her prime.

Directed by the same guy that did Final Destination 2 and written by the same guy as Phone Booth, that alone is good enugh. The film does have that Panic Room/Phone Booth feel and they were both terrific films based on simple, almost boring premises, so this could be good. Kim Basinger has proven herself as an actress before but 8 Mile didn't require a whole lot and Bless The Child was awful, but she could be good, and Chris Evans is an odd choice, he isn't a major player, but it'll be good to see if he can handle dramatic material, but Phone Booth had nice humour so Evans may be able to stretch his funny bone again. I'm looking forward to this.

Errr.. doesnt sound too promising in my opinion. For one thing the plot seems like of those simple but suspense filled (read: too much overkill) movies hollywood is spurting out now of days.
Plus...I dont think Kim can really act. For supporting roles she comes, shows off her body and does that little laugh, but for a role like this? I may watch it just to see how she carries herself.
