Being that Halloween 9 is pretty much definitely gonna happen which director do you think would be the best choice to direct H9 and why?, (be realistic) cause i don't think Carpenter will do it and they won't get someone like Gore Verbinski either.
Here's my picks...........
Jonathan Liebesman(Darkness Falls) Say what you want about Darkness Falls "i liked it" but you can't say Liebesman doesn't have a good feel for horror, Darkness Falls had a very creepy and brooding atmosphere with good style. He'd be an excellent choice for H9.
Rob Schmidt(Wrong Turn) I loved Wrong Turn with a passion, Schmidt showed that he had a great visceral and creepy style for the film and a great sense of suspence. Another damn good choice for H9.
What's your choices and what do u think of mine?

Ideally, Gore Verbinski, Marcus Nispel, or Rob Schmidt.

I really don't care as long as it's not Rosenthal again. My god what a talentless, sad man. All he did in Halloween 2 was copy Carpenter's style entirely and add some blood to the mix. Then they pick him to direct Halloween 8 and suddenly he's our savior? Man I should have seen that train wreck coming from a mile away.

Dwight H. Little(H4) He did such a good job with 4 I think he should do 9.

Rob Schmidt would likely do a great job, so would Robert Harmon (They, The Hitcher), Liebesman, and it would be great if Carpenter himself would do it but he won't even though he hasn't got anything else going on.

Me... 'cause I gaurantee you I could do better than the last hack.
On another note: Little would be a good (and the most likely of all the ones mentioned) choice. Carpenter, Verbinski, Harmon... None of them would even read the script.

Anybody but Rosenthal.

I agree with Rob Schmidt. Wrong Turn was great for its low budget and he seems to have a fondness for old school horror.

Baz Luhrmann, or Paul Thomas Anderson.

Hence the word ideally ;) And I don't want Carpenter anywhere near Halloween 9.
Why can't Carpenter direct H9? He created the series.
Besides Carpenter, I say Tim Burton. He's always been one of the most spookily creative directors (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow). He will be the PERFECT man to direct it.

How about no one, so that they can finally put this series out of its misery. But if they must do something, have Carpenter direct it so that he may give Michael and Laurie the farewell they deserve (although I don't think Jamie Lee Curtis will bite).

I never said Carpenter can't, I said I don't want him to. The guy hasn't made a decent film in years and, on the path he's on, he'll make a horrible film.
Some people have a weird sense of loyalty regarding filmmakers.

David R. Ellis, director of FINAL DESTINATION 2. Maybe Rob Schmidt or the director of HALLOWEEN 4.

I agree with TheAxeGRinder, nobody should direct this film, because we dont need anymore of these films. As much as I enjoy the original Halloween and also the second one, unfortunately the series has gone to shit.
ahh its great to be back.

I think Victor Salva should give it a shot. It would have suspense written all over it.

Tim Burton might add some creative style to the mix...but it might be a little too Burton. Y'know? Like not Halloween style.
Carpenter, I dont know....but I dont think he would come back, want to come back, and he migh do some weird turn with the series that comes out of left field.
Dwight H. Little did a GREAT job with Halloween 4 so I think he would be great.

ps- I sent in my treatment for Halloween 9 to Moustapha Akkad a few days ago so Im just checking the mail everyday just in case I hear a reply. lol...prolly wont reply until a few weeks due to normal office craziness.

Is your treatment written well? Like gramatically perfect? If not, it won't make it past the office room, and they probably won't look if its unsolicited anyway.

I did go over it many times. The best I can do is having a copyright protecting it...thats just a chance I'll have to take. And I just want to be able to say I tried, it's not like I need this for the money or anything. Im just giving them a chance to read something made by fan that will give the fans what they want.

Some people have a weird sense of loyalty regarding filmmakers. Gotta agree with ANTBond, here. I haven't liked anything that Carpenter has done in YEARS. Despite that, the last time he talked about doing a Halloween, didn't he wanna put Mikey in space? I saw Jason X and I know that the Halloween series has been steadily going down the shitter, but I DON'T wanna see another horror icon in space.

Well, definitely good luck. But if you incorporated Halloweens 4 - 6, like a lot of fans do, they won't use it. I'll guarantee that. But maybe you'll have a chance.

Thanks man.:D I did incorporate Halloween 4-6 but not as much as you would think. I simply put just enough to make the H4-6 fans happy(all they want is some recognition that the movies even exsisted) but no where near enough to confuse "newer audiences". That was my plan from the beginning because I knew if I mentioned anymore than the bare minimum, they would definately not use it. But, who knows.

Ugh...
Tell me if isn't so! Let it turn out this is a rumor and nothing more.
You can't avoid. I thought I could avoid something after Jason Goes to Hell, but nine years later, there came Jason X...
Did that just started up today? Hope Busta returns.

Im sure the Rick Rosenthal is just something that someone heard in an old interview. Who knows what has happened by now. I for one dont think he's that bad. The directing has nothing to do with storyline. Anyway, I was just pointing out that Halloween 9 is becoming official.

I guess that I, too, would be OK with never seeing another Halloween movie made. When I first viewed H20 I thought that was a piece of shit, but then Resurrection came along and made H20 look like Oscar material. Whew! What a stinker! IMHO, the only redeeming quality was Brad Lorie (sp?) playing The Shape. Regardless of what I've heard others say, I thought that he did a great job! Busta, though? C'mon! LL Freakin' Cool J was bad enough. Again, just when I thought it couldn't get any worse we get "Trick or treat, mothafucka!" OK, OK, end of rant.

"After the Halloween night massacre of a group of college students on a webcast, Michael Myers is taken to Haddonfeild Memorial Clinic where he kills a mourge attendant,a parametic,a nurse and most others at the hospital trying to track down the two survivors, Freddie Harris and Sara Moyer. Meanwhile, Tommy Doyle is tracking down Michael. He has heard the news and is wanting to stop Michael."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA why would IMDB even watse space with this shite...the guy who wrote it has an AOL account fer gods sake..(nothing against AOL, just dont see important information like this coming from an AOL account)
at any rate....we shall see what really happens in due time....

Man, that is obviously a fake plot come up with someone who wants it to be something like that. Thats that bad thing about imdb, they accept almost anything and everything; they dont even look for a reference website or source.
