From Fangoria.com...

Variety reports that the frequently touted resurrection of Hammer Films is finally on the verge of happening. The famous British company, which reimagined classic horror figures in bloody color and made stars out of the likes of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, has found new backing and is looking to launch a series of both original movies and remakes of its classic titles, along with video games, stage shows, Internet ventures, books, toys and other merchandising, as well as the establishing of a pay-TV horror channel! No specific titles have yet been announced. Look for the first part of an extensive Lee interview in Fango #227, on sale September 16.

I can't think of any words to complement this cool blurb (well, except for the ones I just typed).

Whoo hooo! This means will be seeing more Dracula movies! Awesome, I hope this new Hammer maintains the level of excellence and devotion to the horror genre like the first hammer studios did.

Anyhows this is excellent news!

I may just hyperventilate.

What I would not give for more movies in the vein of One Million Years B.C.

I hope it doesn`t go to US.....Hollywood is seriously going downhill with their lack of imagination and it would be refreshing if the centre of movie business would go somewhere outside Hollywood again. UK would probably be the best place, because the majority of people would preffer their movies in English...

Yes! Yes! I've been waiting for this for a long while...if the new Hammer Films keep the same spirit as the old Hammer Films, then this is great news!

I guess I phrased that wrong. I don't hope that Hammer becomes a US company but I was hoping that whatever happens with the studio gets released in the United States.

Hammer's coming back? Hell yes this is good news!

Horror is on an up swing in both quality and quantity and Hammer will absolutly bring something to the genre. I want to see some remakes, but i'm also interested in seeing how they develop new talent.
