The brothers of Kings of Leon grew up under the Pentecostal rule of their evangelist father during the late '80s and '90s. Music was a major part of their upbringing, for their dad would play the Rolling Stones and Neil Young for his three sons while traveling across the southern United States. Kings of Leon — Caleb (guitar), Nathan (drums), and Jared Followill (bass) — spent much of their childhood and young adult life moving in and around America's heartland. They spent time in Oklahoma and Tennessee before making Nashville their permanent home in 1998. There, Kings of Leon started focusing on music. By 2000, Kings of Leon — taking Leon from the names of their father and paternal grandfather — was born. Their cousin, Matthew Followill, joined within months and a gritty southern garage rock sound quickly emerged. A deal with RCA followed in 2001 and their Holy Roller Novocaine EP appeared two years later. In July 2003, the band delivered their first full studio batch of Southern rock with Youth and Young Manhood.
Anybody else a fan?
I'm relatively new to the lads myself, but they're pretty darn kicking.

Their debut album, Youth and Young Manhood has pretty much been on a constant loop lately...and Happy Alone, Joe's Head and Red Morning Light are my definite favourites at the mo'...good mellow easy-listening (but highly decent) stuff I must say.
See the video for Red Morning Light HERE! (http://www.kingsofleon.com/frames.html)
So, thoughts...opinions folks...!?
