FROM IMDb:

200 Greatest Icons -- But Where Are the Movie Stars?

Only two film stars were included in the top ten portion of People magazine's 200 Greatest Pop Culture Icons being released as a book and a VH1 television special this week. The two are Tom Cruise (#5) and Marilyn Monroe (#6), with the rest of the list being dominated by television and recording artists, as well as Superman (#2) and Princess Diana (#9). Leading the list was Oprah Winfrey.

I'm surprised that James Dean isn't on the top 10...i'd think he was one of the biggest pop culture icons...hmmmm

Yeah, I was surprised he wasn't in there, either. ;)

Is Harrison Ford in there? I mean, the man IS Indiana Jones and Han Solo AND Jack Ryan, after all...and what about Hitchcock? Is Hitch in there?

That list kinda sucked. A majority of their VH1's selections was based on what is currently hip. Godzilla deserved to be on that list! Everyone around the world knows who he is.

So does that mean Dean was included, but not mentioned in the IMDB article? Because he definately should be.

Yep, he's in there. I'm not sure what number he was, but he was in there.

The list is a joke, though. The Osborne's are listed. Automatically makes it bad.

The whole list was a joke. Like Klown said, it's all about who's popular now (paraphrasing)

Yeah, I saw the list last night. This is the worst list of all-time. Very few great choices.

I bought the book, I was happy to see legends Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, etc. in there even if they weren't in the top 10.....

.....but where's Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Stewart, Ginger Rogers, etc????? And how can they not be in there when untalented hacks like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are?

I saw the top 200 list, and what filled me with rage was seeing Oprah Winfrey at number 1. WTF??? Sure, she is indeed popular with lots of woman, but higher on the list then Elvis Presley and Superman? Give me a fucking break.
