The poster seems to be the only good thing about this movie ;)

This film is playing at Fright Fest, the annual horror film festival in London next month. I was going to go see it (only because otherwise i might end up waiting another 6 months or whatever) but there is something inherently scary about a film which is described as a Zombie movie meets The Matrix, by the OFFICIAL site, no less. Now THAT'S scary. Who am i kidding, i'm bound to see it, what else am i going to do on a Sunday afternoon???

Unfortunately, the poster will probably be the only good thing about this movie.

I don't really like that poster. This movie looks like shit and the oficial site sucks.

Poster looks like complete shit. This movie will be just as shitty as Resident Evil. No plot, Just Gore.

Actually, RESIDENT EVIL did have a plot. HOUSE OF THE DEAD, however, will not. I mean, the director is trying to outdo the success of RE by promising loads of gore and practically nothing else.

Resident Evil didn't real have that much gore in it, but it did have plot.

My point exactly...

"Resident Evil" didn't have that much gore, and in the end, didn't need so much. It worked fine with the gore that it had, and relied on a lot of the atmosphere in the underground lab. And, yes, it certainly had good enough plot, as well.

Gore...sex...drugs...techno
What's not to like?
I mean it's no Donnie Darko, but then again, what can you expect when you make a video game into a movie?
It'll be a pleasant 90 minutes of mindless shennanigans!

That's not what the test screenings say. So far, it's tanked rock bottom with feedback from test screenings.

I agree with the post by Lizarrd.
I saw the trailer (a while ago, so maybe they've changed it) and thought it looked real bad, but I thought it would be a nice mindless little romp with some decent gore effects; I'm not a huge fan of the games, but I enjoy them.
Wasn't he going to inter-splice game footage into it, but fans and people emailed him pleading for him not to. At least that's not going to happen :D

ummm all the screening reports i've seen said they didn't take out the game footage. Which means they didn't listen. Which means they didn't fix the movie, which means, its still gonna suck. Too bad too cause I played HOTD more than I played any resident evil game anyday. Had HOTD 1 for saturn, had HOTD2 for DC and was gonna get 3 for the xbox. Now, the movie which I had my hopes up for has me worried. I don't wanna see a really crappy movie! :(

Decent poster, but I have no expectations going into this film; I'll just go into it. Horrid test screenings are irrelevant. It features Ellie Cornell, Clint Howard, and droves of zombies, so we should give it a fair shot.

Normally, I'd agree with that.
But I think I'm the only person on Earth who's actually bolstered by the negative reviews. Each one raises my anticipation for the flick.
Then again, I've always been a masochist :).
I like the poster, by the way.

Judging a film before it's released will only do one thing, spoil it for you completely. Watch the movie without any pre-conceived notions. If you go in expecting something and it's not delivered than the end result will be disappointing. That's why I'm seldomly let down.

Besides...there has been a vaccuum when it comes to Zombie movies.
Theyre expensive (have to hire lots of extras and use makeup on them) and don't always get the best turnout. Being a fan of the subgenre I always like it when they make a new one...even it its one of those really bad ones like Revenge of the Living Dead.

Eh, the posters ok. There's nothing really spectacular about it. I saw the trailer for the movie and I really hate to say it but the thing looks like it's going to be a pretty shitty flick.
Zombies are always a good thing so I'm going to try to keep an open mind about this one and see what happens.

I tried that but then I saw the second trailer on the offical website (the website itself doesn't look anything spectualr unlike other film sites). They ripped off the Matrix loads of times on both trailers and one trailer showed some guy trying to be emotional in a dark scene. I just can't start liking this movie, the trailers have done it for me. Zombie movie or not, I'm avoiding this one at all costs.

Yup, the game footage IS still in the movie.
Worst. Idea. EVER.

I still think it looks pretty good.
i read on the site in a review:
"The video game footage that everyone was angry about is still in the film. But to my surprise it doesn't get in the way too much, its really only used to cut between scenes or intesify the action and its never used to substitute for any real zombie action footage."
and
"Speaking as a fan, I think the gaming footage inserts are used well. Don't know how casual audiences will respond to them though"
