This is getting ridiculous, but apparently, the Duel dvd, which was supposed to come out Aug 12 has been delayed for a second time. This really gets me mad because I was looking so forward to finally owning Spielberg's first film on dvd after having to wait over a year. Yet another reason why I hate Universal

Where'd you hear this from? Dose your source state when it's been delayed until?
Delays suck in general anyways. I too, was looking forward to this.

Whats the skinny on this? I've seen a few copies of this DVD on ebay, fetching $50 and more... apparently some copies were released, and then recalled... anyone know what theyre going to change on it when they rerelease it? I've never seen this either.

I just watched this movie for the first time and I thought it was f'in amazing. Speilburg really is a genius - this was his first movie! I can't wait for the DVD. I'm just glad it's coming out.

Mine arrived today from Amazon. I was one of the lucky few to order it before it was removed from the database.
It's terrific. The picture and sound quality are superb. The interview with Spielberg (35 minutes of him just talking about Duel) is a must-see for any low-budget filmmaker or Spielberg fan.
I'm not selling mine on Ebay. I'm keeping this thang.

Anyone have any updates on this?
This is getting ridiculous! A copy just sold on eBay for $203.50!!!! And most others go between $100 and $125. Just check eBay's completed items to see the ridiculous prices. I'm kicking myself in all three nuts for not grabbing this directly when it came out.
Unless this never gets released, these people are idiots. Once the new version comes out, the prices will drop on the other (Although, there will always be collector scum like myself driving it back up, but it will probably never hit $200).
Crazee shit!

What is up with that. The movie hits the shelves and then they pull it. What happened, did some background extra not give the OK for a release? Maybe the picture looked like crap?

I heard this is never getting a release, based on the lead actor's daughter dying in a horrific real-life car accident.

May I add: this movie is terrible. Don't waste your time. And no, regardless of who's dog or daughter died in some accident, I believe this will be getting a dvd release. After all, TV airs it all the time, and Ive seen more than one mint video copy. So.....
