Psycho let me tell u that u cannot go wrong with this slasher from the early 80's.
It is very gory, u have some breasts and arses, it is sometimes atmospheric, a good killer and a good weapon, for once a good use of the wild setting is made.
The gore is from Savini so u can expect to see some very good murder - scenes ( especially the raft scene but only in the uncut version )

The Burning is very underrated, and one of my all time favorite horror flicks. I have the uncut version on DVD-R if you are interested in purcashing a copy.

Definitely worth the $15 for the unrated version....
A great, very underrated horror flick. Some clever kills, nudity, gore, future stars in early roles, a decent storyline and better than average acting for the genre...and Ebert hated it.

Ebert hating it must mean it's good. :)
But yeah, this is one great 80's slasher, mucho underrated.

I sadly havent seen either. I'd like to. Maybe I'll go on a hunt for them, but that would require walking and moving from this comfy chair, maybe I'll just buy them off the internet through ebay, I am the best person ever.

I have both on VHS...If you want to work out a deal, I'll sell you them. I want to get rid of my VHS tapes in favor for DVD, even though some horror titles will take quite a while to make it on DVD, if they do.

I`m sure Netflix probably has "The Burning"......not sure about "Just Before Dawn" though. I think it might be out-of-print. Can anyone confirm/correct this?
I`m also sure Netflix probably has "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!" too, Claw.
I am the best person ever.
Yeah, I guess you`re right. {sigh}

Oh dont worry You're in the top runners up for best person ever. Plus Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot is a great movie, just like Ishtar, Hudson Hawk, Popeye and Howard The Duck.
And I'm not being saracastic, I do really enjoy all 5.
I would check the Burning out but I dont got this Netflix thing.

Oh well, they still may have Ishtar, Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot, Hudson Hawk or Howard The Duck. All of them are excellent motion pictures.

Directed by Tony Maylam from a screenplay co-written by future Miramax execs Harvey and Bob Weinstein. Based upon the real-life urban legend titled “The Summer Of Cropsy”, this FRIDAY THE 13TH-style horror flick centers around the fire-disfigured caretaker of a summer camp who wreaks havoc among a group of counselors attempting to re-open the cursed campsite. Among those ripe for Cropsy’s extra-large hedge shears: Brian Matthews and Leah Ayres as the lead couple; Brian Backer as the resident geek; and stars-of-tomorrow Jason Alexander (TV’s "Seinfeld"), Oscar-winner Holly Hunter (of THE PIANO fame) and Fisher Stevens (the geeky villain in HACKERS). All of the players are likable and realistic, and actually look young enough to portray teen campers and counselors in their early 20’s. Although this underrated gem was released during the same year as popular supervillain Jason Voorhees made his debut in the first FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel, it still ranks up there with the original F13, DELIVERANCE and JUST BEFORE DAWN as one of the best horror films set in the great outdoors. The film also boasts great FX by the brilliant Tom Savini, as well as mucho carnage and nudity for gorehounds and pervs. My grade: B
BTW, Psychopath2616..I own it!

I was lucky enough to tape this one off one of my movie channels a while back. I didn't realise it was that hard to come by.
I had never even heard of this movie until I joined the boards, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. This and SLEEPAWAY CAMP 1 are about the only two camp horror flicks where the characters were actually believable and looked and acted like regular kids. You even get Jason Alexander playing well.... a George Costanza like character, but who cares he's great anyway. I kept looking for Micheal Richards to pop up, but he never did.:D
The gore and atmosphere are great and I would highly recommend it if you can get your hands on a copy.

So I can't wait, it says the unrated version which is exciting and I found a site that reviewed it and showed an ucut clip of the raft scene....That scene was so fucking awesome!...Now, Im dying to see this....but tell me is that the coolest part in the movie or are there other parts that I'll like too, cause it seems like every review just says the raft scene is awesome and thats about it....I like Sleepaway Camp 1 and Friday the 13th so do you think I will enjoy this...
