A few months have past, and many of us have witnessed ROTK. I still think he's a genius, (ROTK 10/10!) and I'm wondering if anyone else's opinions have changed.

Even though I didn't really enjoy Bad Taste the man made DEAD-ALIVE which I consider to be one of my top ten favorite films of all time. That alone is enough for me to warrant him a yay. I haven't bothered watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy or King Kong but I wish he would make another low budget cheese fest. Could be a lot of fun. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Nay. The Lord of the Rings was pretty good, although he in no way "made" the movies, but he butchered King Kong and I'm not a big fan of Dead Alive. I do commend him for losing all that weight though.

He was in charge of every single department in the most elaborate and demanding project ever under-taken by a filmmaker, I'd say he was a HUGE part of making them turn out as they did...and pretty good is a drastic understatement.

Yes, he bucthered Kong...if by butchered you mean he turned unintentionally funny films with horrible characterization into one of the most heartfelt, exciting, and visually stunning spectacles to ever grace the screen with various adaptive changes that made the story lightyears more powerful than it had ever been before...

Oh yeah, Yay.

He's tied with Mel Gibson for my favorite director, and he's about as humble and cool of a guy as you can get for people that are this successful.
