I just rented this movie last night and it is a really good movie. Despite being a direct to video movie its got all horror fans could ask for: Tons of gore to go round, a little nudity here and there, good script, and swearing. Oh yes! Granted this was the uncut version so other cut versions may suck depending on what is taken out. I was wondering if anyone else has seen it. If so what is your opinion? I don't want to just hear what a critic said or a review from another site, I'm interested in honest opinions? Good or bad thats fine.

From Netflix:
Karen Black, Peter Deluise and Garrett Morris star in this creepy thriller about the bucolic town of Allburg, which is far from the madding crowd of the big city but is now under siege. Just released from a crypt that imprisoned him, a vampire preys on Allburg's residents, turning them one by one into bloodsuckers, too. Who can save them? A motley crew of hunters -- a teen, a teacher and the town drunk -- will try to stop the spread of evil.
I guess it sounds good enough to put in my rental queue.

Sounds like a movie worth a look. The title sounds vaguely familar but its probably a movie I've just seen sitting on the shelf at the video store.

Well, it's possible you're the only one who's seen this movie. I guess I was the only one on the whole site who's seen The Peanut Butter Solution, so it's not uncommon for that to happen, I guess.
If it's any consolation, every time I read Children of the Night it makes me think of a cheesy 80's metal song. Maybe a bad rendition of someone trying to be Dio...
<heavy guitar riff>
"They come from the deepest DARKEST WELLS...
As the sun goes down and the full moon swells...
You better RUUUUUNN, oh you better HIIIIIDDDEE..
from the...
<backup singer fills Dio-wannabe>
Children of the Night
Children of the... NIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHHHTTTTTTT"
Am I the only one who feels that way?:o

I saw this years ago, it's an average and very campy vampire flick from Fangoria films.

I think some of my favorite scenes from the movie are:
The priest having Karen Black and her daughters characters locked inside the room.
And the different ways the vampires sleep.
To me a lot of the scenes attempted to have a comic book style to them which didn't work for me in this film and some bland attempts at humor. I'd give it 4/10

After reading this thread I went out and found this movie and rented it last night. I thought the movie was okay, not great but okay. I think its worth seeing at least once and you can do worse. I don't like it as much as CarrieCarrie but I don't dislike it as much as Izombie. In closing I don't know if it was the uncut version like CarrieCarrie the case never said so my guess is it was the cut version.
I rate it 6/10

It was an okay movie for me, but not one I'd rush to see again. The beginning scenes of the girls swimming in the abandoned church's flooded basement was creepy, but the rest of the film lapsed into misplaced humor and cliches which kept it from being scary.
