When I bought my first DVD player two years ago, I walked out with Heathers and Carrie. Then the crappy 5 movies that they sent me for free.

Sweet topic!

I have fond memories of walking out of a Future Shop (kind of like a Best Buy but in Canada) with my new DVD player and a copy of Se7en (the old one) and Being John Malkovich.

the first two i got (my parents bought them when they bought the dvd palyer for me... for christmas) were MI 2 and Scary movie...
they are probably my least favorite of the bunch but mission impossible 2 was still cool to watch on dvd. I now have 9 DVD's in four months.. i'm hoping to double that ratio.

Ahh the memory i have of leaving WHSmiths with my first DVD having 2 days previously bought my sony DVD player.

It was October 18th, 2000 and it was quite a nice warm day, The Big Lebowski was the DVD i left the shop with and it was in the nicest of all DVD cases that you can get.

I still love it to this very day /ubb/smile.gif
One of my fav movies!
I'm sooooo glad thats the first one i bought!

My first DVD was The Mask, with Jim Carrey, when I bought my first DVD player there was not much of a selection of DVDs.

My first DVD was Rumble in the Bronx. It was the beginning of 1998 and the selections were scarce. Actually I bought the DVD about a month before I bought my player. It was my way of forcing myself to buy the player since it was relatively new technology, the cheapest player was $400! (now that same model is around $100 /ubb/frown.gif )

I lost my DVD cherry with Fifth Element. Top film and a great example of how to showcase the DVD format, athough the extras were a bit weak.

150 DVDs and a couple of pissed off credit card companies later, I am still going and still spending far too much money on those little shiny trinkets! What is it about shiny things that appeals to me?
