American Gothic movie

I just read it from Bloody-Disgusting (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/index.php?Show=267&Template=newsfull). I don`t know how many of you have ever heard of this one season long horror series, but I very much liked it and am pretty excited that they are about to make a movie and resurrect the series.

I have heard and loved the movie American Gothic; was there also some sort of TV series? And THIS is what they're basing the new project from??

The movie was nothing to do with the Gary Cole-starring TV series, which was one of the best seasons of horror TV ever produced. It's a shame it didn't go to a second series, but at least we're left with one season that was highly entertaining.

This is one DVD that I'd snap up if they ever get around to releasing it........ :)

Me too, I remember when they played it on CBS and I watched every episode, then when Sci-Fi Picked it up for syndication, I watched it and fell in love with it all over again. Man, if they revive this series with a movie, i'll be very happy.

The movie American Gothic is excellent. i believe an 80s flick. A plane of teens go to an island that is inhabited by a nutty as hell family. Fun violence insues but one of the teen girls has a nice surprise for them as well. I dont want to spoil anything about the film so that's all I'll say. Great movie.

Yeah, I see that the previous movie didn`t have any connection with the series. I`m just worried because they say the movie and the new "American Gothic" series, that they are talking about too, would probably be remakes of the first season and Haley Joel Osment is probably going to play the lead role. (not the sherif, the little boy) I don`t know how to feel about that. At least as I recall, the actor who played the sherif would be back.

god i miss this series, it was great

ive wanted a second series for ages, but a remake of the first.....that wouldn't work, it wouldn't have the same feeling as the first series unless they brought back the original cast and thats unlikely

a film would be interesting though


also is it at all likely the first season is going to get a dvd release? id love to own it :D

Actually as I see it, they are bringing back most of the cast. Just not the people who played the boy and the ghost of his sister, because they`re too old for their roles.
