not really. It should break $150 million pretty soon. The numbers for Monday arent that bad.

T3 wont be pulled out of theaters anytime soon.

BTW: T3 is breaking box office records overseas.

It's cool that SEABISCUIT is doing so well. I'm really happy for it. I think it has a good chance at pulling ahead of BAD BOYS 2 on Tuesday, or at least sometime this week.

In other news, SWIMMING POOL will cross the 4 Million mark on Wednesday, which is very cool.

Overall, not bad Monday numbers. Nothing AMAZING, but nothing really bad either.

Bad Boys II will go past $100M on Friday. Wow. I guess this one is going to avoid the curse laid on most big budget summer sequels and eventually make its budget back and by so could be considered a hit.

I hope TR2 would make at least $3.5M on Friday but honestly I don't see that coming. Too bad.. :(

Ouch. It looks like Gigli flopped. I thought for sure curiousity factor would get butts in the theater. I'll be seeing the movie later today just to see if it is THAT bad. And also because I happen to like Ben and Jen. Both are very good actors IMO.

All well.

Does this mean that Finding Nemo has now surpassed The Lion King as the highest grossing animated film ever?

:(!

Damn, I was really hoping Gigli would do better. It's a GREAT movie and deserves more! I wish it had American Wedding's numbers, since it's guaranteed, IMO, to be the better movie.

At least Seabiscuit had a nice hold, and the same with Pirates of the Caribbean. :)

Did BB2 make back its budget yet? I read the budget was 75 millions, but boxofficemojo says its 130 millions. Which one is it?

Mike

The gross of American Wedding is a little disappointing. But audiences seem to be loving it, so it should hold up decently the rest of the summer and will make it to 100 Million for sure. I think a lot of underage people were buying tickets for Spy Kids 3-D and seeing this instead. I actually got carded last night . I couldn't fucking believe it. I went with a friend (who is a few months younger than me), and he got his ticket first, no questions asked. Then I said "one for American Wedding," and the guy was like "I need to see some ID." I did feel good showing him it though and proving that I was of age and his assumption was wrong :). It would have been different if they were carding everyone, but I was the first I saw get friggin' carded. A kid that looked like he was 8 years old bought a ticket to it not too long before my friend and I got ours, and he wasn't asked for ID. Whatever! That's movie theater employees for ya. They card the people that are actually of age and let little kids buy a ticket no questions asked  ;).

Gigli bombed, which is not surprising. Damn it, I should have went with my gut feeling and predicted lower. Wow, it doesn't look like it will make much more than 4 Million for the weekend. I'm sure it would have done better without the horrible buzz.

Spy Kids 3-D and Seabiscuit held up well. I hope Seabiscuit can pass up Pirates Of The Caribbean for the weekend and be in the #2 spot.

Here were my predictions for this weekends new movies:

AMERICAN WEDDING

Friday - 16.2 Million
Saturday - 15.4 Million
Sunday - 12.8 Million

Total - 44.4 Million

GIGLI

Friday - 3.1 Million
Saturday - 3.3 Million
Sunday - 2.4 Million

Total - 8.8 Million

Exactly as I hoped\predicted, TR2 has made $3.5M on Friday which will eventually lead to an okay second weekend gross of at least $10M. No 60% drop as some predicted. COOL!

Still the numbers kinda suck for TR2 , good to see T3 is still in the top 10 and will most definitely hit 150 Million within the next 10 days. Jedi can u please give me the link to T3's up to date world wide numbers again. I forgot which thread it is in :P

Wow~ Bend it Like Beckham didn't even make it in the top ten. Thats pretty pathetic considering how much TV commercials I have seen for it.

I must admit, before I saw "American Wedding" I did not want another American Pie movie. But since all the "Pie" movies all rated AT LEAST a 8.5/10 I wouldn't mind another one.

Wow! I can't believe it, "Gigli" has officially tanked at the box-office! I really thought the masses would go see it because of Ben and J. Lo... guess not. Also, I was expecting "American Wedding" to have higher numbers than $12 million dollars. Another shocker is the absence of "Bend It Like Beckham" on the top ten, with all the markerting and praise, I was definitely expecting for it to make some money. "Tomb Raider 2" is doing horribly, it looks like that franchise is pretty much over with. It's good to see both "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Bad Boys II" holding up on the top ten.

Where is Bend it Like Beckham?

Ouch for Gigli. All the negative buzz has really done it for Jen and Ben, had they not had that, it would've been more successful. Didn't even make 2 million on its first day...no way it'll make back its 54 million budget, which is really quite sad. Then again, if audiences think the film is better then expected, word of mouth might help it, but thats doubtful. At least Lopez can be happy that she beat out Swept Away which only managed $354,052 in its first week. Too bad for Ben and Jen, will this effect Jersey Girl, which is apparently a very good movie. There was never a dobut that AP3 would go well. But will it be as big as the last two?

i think American Wedding is gunna have great legs, everyone i kno who saw it loved it. 3D held up okay as did Seabiscuit. I'm happy to see BB2 still in the top 5 and T3 in the top ten, i hope Beckham doesnt knock ity off for the weekend.

I still can't believe how fantastic Pirates is doing...

Also, i think it kinda sux that Gigli bombed. I think it looks okay and i hope this has little effect on Jersey Girl.

Although I admit (bitterly :( )that TR2 is a box-office disappontment, I believe its second weekend performance is very good considering the poor opening. It didn't drop like many big-budget sequels this summer. And $42M in 10 days isn't anything to laugh at. I mean it's headed towards $65-70M and with international gross and VHS and DVD it shouldn't be a big bomb. Copared to its budget it's doing just like T3 which won't make its budget back in USA but will definetly be considered a hit (a big hit in T3's case) when all is counted..

Do I sound too desperate to make TR2 look like a hit? :p

LOL , hey I like Angelina too and its certainly not her fault the movie is not performing that well..its much like the baseball allstar game this year..the viewership didn't rise at all from last years stinker of a game due to the fact that last years game sucked..this years game was 10 times better but suffered cause peeps didn't tune in due to last years terrible game..same kinda happened to TR2 , the first movie is killing the much better second movies B.O.

I'm glad Pirates is still kicking ass, that's a great film.

And to Gigli, I can only say this: You deserve it. An 8 million TOTAL GROSS will teach Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez to make crap.
