Finally, Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West" will be released on DVD -- in November, I'm told.
Does anyone know any details?

Yup, that's mighty fine news. ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST is one of my favourite films and some of us have been waiting bloody ages for this DVD. The print will be digitally remastered, supplements are yet tbc by Paramount. Release date: November 18.
Can't wait! :)
I remember reading about this a while back, and November seems about right. However, at the time, DVDSoon had this available to pre-order, now there's no mention of it on their site and amazon simply list it as not yet available.
I'll be surprised if it's out this year, but here's hoping.
EDIT - Where did you hear Nov 18, Ren?

DVDtalk, had a discussion in one of their forums about the region 2 disc (which looks amazing), and someone commented on the fact that it would coming out the same time, but didn't know the extras or the cover art.

That's what the ever-reliable folks at The DVD Journal (http://www.dvdjournal.com/) say :)

If ever there was a definition of "great, long-awaited news", the this film's DVD release is as close to it as you'll get.

Well it's excellent news if it's true, but it's been on the cards for so long I'm finding it difficult to be enthusiastic. Also, it was rumoured a while ago that the image would be cropped, which would suck heavily, so I'm waiting for more concrete news before I get too happy.
Amazon now has the release date (18th Nov, as Ren said) and a price ($14.99), so that looks promising.
Also, Paramount submitted a 158m 28 cut of the film, which was passed uncut (rated 15) by the BBFC on the 30th of July. The BBFC lists it as being widescreen with an audio commentary.
Looks like we'll be getting a couple of decent docus too!

Cover art looks pretty good to me, although the BBFC have still to stamp their ugly rating all over it.
Can't find anything about sound/screen specs, but a SPECIAL COLLECTOR'S EDITION should be anamorphic and in the original aspect ratio, right?
Looks good. I've been wanting to see this film for a very long time.

Sorry, but... I... can't... hold... it... back...
THAT'S FUCKIN' BLOODY AWESOME!!!
I've read Frayling's Leone biography and am happy that Paramount got him for the commentary track. Who would have thought that the studio famous for its notoriously poor DVDs would get this one right?! :D
I've heard rumours about a Deluxe box set with some extra goodies. Any news about that?

Man that sounds like a fucking wet dream release.
Are you sure you aren't jerking my chain and stroking my anticipation on this?
If I find out this is all an early April Fool's Joke, I'll be very upset.
Hummana hummana hummana...

Here's some more. The blue DVD inlet looks kind of strange of me. I would have preferred the orange-brown colour of the cover artwork. Anyway, I won't complain... it still looks fucking great!

Paramount Germany is planning to release a wooden deluxe box set, including a harmonica and the score on CD. Rumour has they're currently considering to do this for all European coutries. Sigh! Hopefully...

I think my uterus just skipped a beat.
The blue does look slightly odd, but it's not bad. Hopefully we'll see a similar box set release in the UK; don't want to be dealing with those dodgy Germans, eh Ren? :D All seriousness aside, the box does look quite good, even if it will end up being ridiculously overpriced and probably won't get a UK release.

Uh yeah, those people scare me  :D Anyways, seems like you don't have to go all the way to the land of the Krauts to hear Bronson and Co talk German. Even better, according to these R2 menue screenshots, you can even enjoy the film with Spanish and French dubbing. WHOOF! I'm impressed ;)
