hey. theres been some times when i'm watching a movie, fall asleep or leave the dvd disc in the player for a long amount of time, while it's on. do you know if this causes any serious damage to the disc? i have a couple dvds that i've left on for a long time that now skip so much it's hard to really enjoy. will any cleaning stuff help this, or should i replace them? has anybody had the same problem? the bottom of the discs look kind of warped. sorry if this may sound silly but i appreciate it.

I havn't heard of this problem (and I leave a movie on when I sleep regurlaly.) I can't spell right now. It doesn't seem like it would hurt the disk if you left it in for a few more hours than the feature. Don't quote me.

Hmm that's odd. I fall asleep to my movies all the time also. (sorry if this is beginning to sound like a broken record) Anyway, I just bought about a couple months ago a DVD disc/scanning cleaner. It's about $20 at your local Best Buy or Radio Shack I'm sure. It just states to clean your DVD lens every 10 hours of play. Which means that I'd need to do it about every 2 to 4 days!!!! So try that out, as far as the "warping" I've never heard of that unless you have the DVD player on something that produces more heat then the player itself does already when in use. Hope this helps! and LMK!

Hmm well I bought my cleaner for only $20. It did seem to help. Although my player hardly ever skips..(thank GOD!) Mine only a couple times stalled and kinda froze and I guess kind of skipped a little bit, but then I just opened the tray and tried it again and it seemed to be fine. But I know it's the player itself, b/c I take very, very VERY good care of my DVD's and CD's etc...so is it worth it? Why not? it beats buying a new DVD player for $60-$120 bucks depending on brand/type.
