**spoilers, of course**
Please explain the ending. Did Jamie kill her sister at the end becasue she was so traumatized from everything that had gone on that night, or did I miss something?
Also, I have now seen Halloween 1, 2, and 4. What one is the next one in the continuous story?

#5 carries on after the 4th, focusing again on Jamie. :)
I think Jamie killed her sister because the 5th film focuses on the psychological link between her and her uncle, so Michael may have had some control over her at that point.

I saw it a couple of days ago and it's my favorite sequel so far (i've yet to see Halloween: Resurrection but I don't think it's gonna win my favour). I have a couple of questions about Halloween 4...
1. Is the UK Anchor Bay DVD cut? In Arrows review he mentions heads being crushed and ripped off. I didn't see any of this in the movie...most of the death scenes cut away before anything terribly gruesome happens.
2. I also bought, at the same time, Halloween 5 but have yet to watch it. I'm hesitant after reading Arrow's review. I know I will eventually watch it but is it as bad as he says it is?
That's all folks. Any help appreciated. :D

H5 preserves the atmosphere of the previous installments, but it's my least favorite entry. Bar Jamie, you'll want to eviscerate all of the characters. The stalk sequences are tedious, the subplots are dopey, and even Donald Pleasance disappoints with a somnolent performance. You can tell that he didn't want to be there. The third act picks up the pace, but all in all, H5 should only be purchased if you're a completist. And unfortunately, it doesn't follow through with H4's excellent twist ending.

*********SPOILERS*************
Jamie attacked her mom, not her sister...I wont ruin what the end result is in part 5...They just added that whole part in as a shoker ending. and I like it very much.
as far as part 5 goes, Im one of the rare people who dig this movie. Loomis goes officialy insane and its a fun watch...some parts, like every other horror movie, are slow and painfull to watch but the over all feeling I get from is nothing but good.

*POTENTIAL SPOILERS ABOUND*
The Halloween series should've ended at Part 4. IMO, Jamie just inherited the disease Michael had, which was madness. I guess being traumatized by the whole ordeal pushed her over the edge. Having Michael being involved with druids makes no sense whatsoever. Part 5 deserves to be thrown in the same trashbin as Part 3 and every other sequel after Part 4. This series ran out of gas long after Part 3. Part 4's ending would've been the cap on the series, and maybe provided a spin-off of sorts, but as it stands, Halloween in my opinion is one of the most troubled horror franchises I've even seen.

Yeah Halloween 4 is great. H5 is okay but the annoying characters, slow scenes, and an emotional Michael kinda ruined it. I really liked the man in black subplot. Yeah it's not answered till H6 but I thought it was cool. Also the ending rocked!

I don't know about you guys, but I think Rachel is the second best character in the Halloween series. Right behind Laurie Strode in my book.
I prefer Rachel to Jamie and...
***SPOILERS***
...killing her in Halloween 5 was just a terrible, terrible mistake. Honestly, she's the one character from 4-5-6 that would be good to bring back in future entries.
Fuck Halloween 6 and all of those stupid Strode characters and Tommy Doyle. I want Rachel.
By the way, in 6, the plot wasn't just stupid, but also didn't follow the mold (like Resurrection). The Strodes and Tommy Doyle are NOT part of Michael's bloodline. The Myers are!

Correction, Halloween 5 IS a terrible, terrible mistake. The series should have ended at 4, as I said before. The sequels after Part 4 proved that this series was turning into a farce.

I'm doing that unlimited rental thing at blockbuster, and the only halloween movies they have there that I haven't seen are:
Halloween: The Curse of Micheal Myers (not even sure what number this one is)
Halloween H20
and they may have Halloween Resserection
Should I watch any of these?

Should I watch any of these? The "Curse" (part 6) is the third (and final) entry in the Jamie storyline. H20 takes a completely different road, ignoring parts 4-6, just taking into account parts 1 and 2. Resurrection (fucking ughh) continues the 1,2,H20 storline. Confused yet?

1. The uk anchor bay dvd may be cut. Here is some gore. When Michael is fighting with brady at the top of the stairs, he crushed brady's head. Toward the end, Michael smashes through a truck drivers window and rips his head half way off. Not all the way. You see his neck riped open and gush blood.
2. I actually liked part 5 (light spoilers) If you liked part 4 i recomand it. Danielle Harris is solid but the movie is weak in places. The stalk scene are more intense, but they're is alot of annoying charcaters (tina, anyone?) But Jamie isn't the killer. It went back to micheal wanting to kill her again. I liked it, but then again I like LOST BOYS and I know your feelings on that one ;)

Im a HUGE fan of part 5....somthing about it just draws me...be it the continuation of the story or good ole Mike draing a tear...the non conclusion ending (is that a word?) Part 5 is a huge winner in my book......how can you not like Jamie running into the basement of the institution? or Loomis loosing it at he end?

Turns outr they don't have Resserection.
I think I'll pass on The Curse because I haven't seen Halloween 5.
I'll rent H20 tomorrow.
For tonight I rented Gacy, which should be pretty good. Also tonight I'll watch Phone Booth.
H20 would have been great if they have mentioned Jamie AT LEAST once. But no, they made it sound like 4-6 was just a dream. “Oh forget it, act like those movies never happened.” Fucking bastards.
And I have a very ignorant question, so ignorant that if the answer is obvious, I may sound like a dumbass. If Michael and Lorie are brothers and sisters, why do they have different last names?

When Michael killed Judith (the opening scene of the original Halloween), Laurie was just a baby. After the murder, it is assumed that Michael and Laurie's parents (the Myers) put her up for adoption.
Then the Strodes adopted Laurie...if you watch Halloween II, you'll see the flashbacks that explain this.
Thank you! That explains everything! Haven't seen HII for a while now.

Halloween 4 is my favourite in the series after the first film. The opening sequence in the field showing the scarecrow definitely sets the mood for the rest of the film. Donald Pleasance shines in his role in this installment.

I'd go as far as to say that it's one of the best horror sequels that I've seen (and if you're a true horror fan, you've probably seen a ton!) IMO, if they'd ended it after this one, the series would be viewed in a totally different (much better) light.
