From IMDB.com
American tabloid The National Enquirer has demanded Hollywood superstar Ben Affleck take a lie detector test - after he denied enjoying a wild night at a lap dancing club. The Gigli star - who is engaged to superstar Jennifer Lopez - was furious when he read the magazine's expose of his alleged trip to a Vancouver, Canada, strip club. And Affleck, who has furiously denied the allegation he cheated on his stunning fiancee in the nightspot, is considering taking the Enquirer to court - a move welcomed by the publication's editors. They claim to have put their sources through lie detector tests carried out by an independent polygrapher, and insist that the only way Affleck can prove his innocence is to take the test himself. In a statement on their website, The Enquirer says, "The Enquirer's sources for this shocking story were given lie-detector tests by a top independent polygrapher - and the sources passed the test! Now, the Enquirer is challenging Ben to do what we required of our sources for this article: Take a lie-detector test. The Enquirer will even pay all expenses associated with the test, to be conducted with a mutually agreed upon independent examiner!"
Well as many have said, IMDB isn't always known for the right info, but that's a pretty big thing for the magazine to do, to challenge him, obviously they believe in their story...

The first tip was American tabloid The National Enquirer .
Also, lie detectors aren't legitimate. Courts stopped using them over 5 years ago.
I think it's bull.

I choose to believe this...maybe BLo is looking for an excuse to get out of a wedding that's bound to lead to a messy divorce. Fuck some strippers...smart.

If Afflect should be forced to take a lie detector test about his personal life to anyone, it shouldn't the National Enquirer.

I believe it. I think if Ben were serious about suing them, he would. I know he shouldn't be expected to take a polygraph, that's just stupid.
But for the Enquirer to even propose this lends credence to their story.

Yes, I can see what you mean by that. But just by challenging Ben, they attract attention to the story. It's welcome attention, at it's not doubt what they're trying to do. Only time will tell if the story is true or not.

Yeah, I've definitely got to take Ben's side here. It's no secret that the National Enquirer is full of nothing but shit.

The Enquirer is right just as , or more often, than they're wrong.
And read the other thread, abotu the possible demise of the relationship.
I think they're dead on on this one.

Lie detectors shouldn't be used as a stand alone defence, but when used in conjuction with actual evidence then they should act as the final nail in the coffin.

Eh, maybe, but they do sprout out a lot of bullshit, and it's usually easy to spot.

Agreed. It is none of their d*** business, or mine , or anyone's anyway.
I finally "got it"" about the flip side of being a celebrity.

Weird. The way I see it, the burden of proof lies on the accuser, not the accused. Ben has no reason to subject himself to a polygraph.
Doesn't matter either way. I don't give a shit who he porks.

I hope it's true! And I hope they break up...ASAP. I'm sick of seeing them everywhere: magazine covers, tv ads, music videos, etc. You can't seem to escape them these days. I used to like Ben Affleck but my estimation of him has gone down to zero since all this media hype over his present relationship. Plus I would have thought he'd have better taste.
And I also agree with Grebdron. The Enquirer is trashy, no doubt, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're on the mark with this story. Some of their reporters live their lives lurking around the stars' homes, following them around like private detectives. I'm sure a lot of their stories are true (though I'm also sure a lot of them aren't).

Well Jho and Ben arent married yet and who could blame the guy getting a lapdance before taking the martial plunge. The National Enquirer is full of shit though.

That's why I am glad not to be famous.
I can do what I want and nobody even cares.
Everyone should be interested in a famous for what they are doing. Singing, dancing or acting. Their private lives should stay private just like if any of you would want it too. Digging up dirt on a celeb is a bigger story than the celeb's career. It all comes down to MONEY. Selling stories - newspapers, magazines or whatever they print these days.
They been after these 2 before they were even a couple. Let them live their lives without someone looking thru their bedroom window.
That's why most hollywood couples divorce within a few months tp a year. Interference from people.

I disagree. I think most of them divorce because they're shacking up with the co-star of the month, or haven't thought through their decision on "who to spend the rest of their lives with."
I stand by my previous statements. Celebs choose the lives they lead. They choose the fame and fortune knowing full well the ramifications of that decision.
Live with it.
