Ted Levine as BUFFALO BILL in Silence Of The Lambs gets my vote. One of the most disturbing performances ever witnessed on screen, absolutely brilliant.

Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal/Red Dragon

followed very closely by

Kevin Spacey in Se7en

also does The Usual Suspects count?

Hands down Tommy Biando performance as Leonard in Eric Stanzes SCRAPBOOK chills me to the bone like no other.

Runners Up::

Micheal Rooker as henry Lucas in John McNaughton's HENRY PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER

Richard Attenborough as John Christie in Richard Fleischer's 10 RILLINGTON PLACE

Tony Curtis as DeSavo in THE BOSTON STRANGLER

Doesn't feel right to not mention Anthony Prkins as Norman Bates in Hitchcock's PSYCHO

Nice choices made so far. I'd also like to throw in Vincent D'Onofrio from THE CELL. Solid performance in one messed-up flick.

Great choices.Full credit must be given to Andrew Robinson's SCORPIO from Dirty Harry.

I agree with you there, a chilling character. Man, D'Onofrio is just so damn good.

No one mentions the best one of them all, even if the kills are debatable you have to admit his methods were very strange and if you read the book...

Patrick Bateman - American Psycho

Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs

check out Peter Greene in Clean Shaven. a very disturbing performance. Same goes to Michael Rooker in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

Tom Noonan as The Tooth Fairy in MANHUNTER.

Christian Bale in American Psycho for sure. He was Patrick Bateman.

Best seriel killer performances would be Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs, Kevin Spacey in Se7en and Peter Lorre in M, but as for most fucked up...hmm...maybe Christian Bale in American Psycho? The way he was acting when he did that trick with the trainsaw was downright scary as hell!

Tom Samborski

Buffalo Bill, The Silence of the Lambs (I actually thought he was more fucked up than Hannibal Lecter).
Hannibal Lecter, The Silence of the Lambs

OK, this topic asks the question...Most Fucked-Up Serial Killer Performance, and not The Best?

Well the best of course would be the afore-mentioned Hopkins. I still think that the Tooth Fairy in MANHUNTER was the most fucked-up. Tom Noonan rules!

Totally depends on what you mean by 'fucked up', La Motta. Does that mean an excellent performance, disturbing, a horrible performance, what?

Michael Rooker in 'Henry Protrait of a Serial Killer' is a good pick but I will go with. .

Joe Spinalli in 'Maniac'. The dude blows Tom Savini's head apart with a shotgun in this movie. You don't do that to the God of Gore.
It looks great though.

How could I forget my favorite male supporting performance of 2002? Ralph Fiennes in RED DRAGON for me.
