Have you seen any very little-known movies that are barely mentioned on this forum, or are barely known with the outside public in general?

I saw a movie on Show Time called Late Bloomers, a movie about a married woman who discovers her own true sexuality- she is attracted to members of the same sex. I thought it was a very good movie, 8/10 from me.

Hmm.... I would say the most little-known film I've ever seen is Christopher Nolan's feature-film debut, "Following". I doubt anyone outside in the public know about this film, but I do know for a fact that some of the schmoes here have seen and appreciated it. Great flick, btw... :D

Who Is Cletis Tout?. Anyone else seen this? With the right casting, better writing, better direction, less formulated boy-girl relationship development, this could've been something. Instead, it's a poorly cast, poorly plotted, left-field b-grader which rightfully went STV in some countries.

I was thinking of this one too. I saw this in cinemas earlier this year, it wasn't too bad, I think it tried to be too smart for its own good. But it was a nice watch overall. The casting wasn't too bad, it was good to see Tim Allen playing against type and Billy Connolly lapped up his screen time. The film took a while to get going, but it was satisfying overall. Could've been better, but it wasn't as bad as it couldve been percieved to be. I gave this a 6/10.

Some others:
Psycho Beach Party, The Broken Hearts Club, Best Men, Around The Fire, Girl, Going All The Way, Simply Irresistible, Living Out Loud.

I've heard of several films off of FeverDog's list, but the only one I've seen is KISS OR KILL, which was a fairly decent indie thriller.

Strider's right on FOLLOWING; it's an involving, original pictures that hints at Nolan's breakout with MEMENTO.

Like Shaka, I've seen WHO IS CLETIS TOUT?, but I enjoyed the darkly comedic premise and ensemble cast a bit more than he did.

Off of Mike's list I've seen (on a **** scale):

NO SUCH THING - * 1/2
AMY'S O - **
WENDIGO - ***
PERSONAL VELOCITY - **
LITTLE SECRETS - ***
WISEGIRLS - **
LOVELY & AMAZING - *** 1/2
TADPOLE - ***
PUMPKIN - ***
URBANIA - ** 1/2
SIDEWALKS OF NEW YORK - ** 1/2
THE BUSINESS OF STRANGERS - ***
THE SUBURBANS - ** 1/2
BEST LAID PLANS - **
GOODBYE LOVER - ***
MUMFORD - ***
TUMBLEWEEDS - ***
ANGEL EYES - ** 1/2
THE DEEP END - *** 1/2
WHAT PLANET ARE YOU FROM? - ***

As for my favorite hidden gems, I know very few who have seen such underrated greats as TRUE STORIES, JUDAS KISS, FINDING GRACELAND, and 17 AND UNDER. Anyone else seen these fine, fine pictures?

I may grab another view, but I thought the acting was atrocious, led by Portia, who was trying too hard. She's a lovely girl, and a better actor than that! Tim Allen was shite. I couldn't see him in that role; *spoiler* a hitman who enjoys classic movies. *end spoiler* I expected that character to be a bit quirkier, a bit sharper, a bit...better cast.

I remember the story had holes, and no real bite. I can't recall caring for what happened to any of the characters, either. I'll give it another view.

Anyway, I've another...

Shiner with Michael Caine. Kinda modern-day East-End Shakespeare thang which none of my mates saw, and I've not read too much about on the boards. Anyone see it?

Another one that pretty much never gets mentioned around here is The Last Days Of Disco with Kate Beckinsale and Chloe Sevigny, or Whipped with Amanda Peet ;).

I'm not being a wanker (okay, I am being a wanker) but I have seen most of the films mentioned, with a few notable exceptions. I swear it all stems from to my days as a video clerk.

Some that I have seen that I PRESUME not many will have.

Liars Poker (main 'famous' actor - Flea from RHCP).

The Maddening (maybe a couple of you will have seen Burt Reynolds 'psycho-chiller' - if so, what the fuck were you thinking when you rented it?).

Kannibal - If you have seen this, my sympathies, for you are truly in the grip of film addiction; if you made it to the end without fast-forwarding, try therapy and put the lime in the coconut.

Goodbye Charlie Good Bright - Two British Schmoes may have seen this. I want names.

7 Ways To Sunday - Starring Deborah Harry. Awesome. (Might actually be Six Way To Sunday - Can't remember much about it other tan the kid from Blade 2 is a gangster in it; yeah, scary).

The Zero boys - Paint-ball. Cannibals. Terrible.

I've seen shiner. I quite liked it.

Heavenly creatures should be more high profile than it is- a wonderful film.

It's quite ironic frrom my POV that someone thinks battle royale is a little seen film. Maybe where you are The Delfonics, but here it got a fairly wide cinema release. I went to see it 3 times at the cinema, the 1st 2 shows were sell outs and the 3rd one was pretty full too.

Im not really a fan of Shiner, pretty average stuff.
Face however is an underrated British gangster flick that should be seen by more people.Robert Carlyle and Ray Winston, what more could you want?

Dirty Pretty Things (8/10)

I've seen these.....unfortunately.

I liked the movie Following which someone mentioned earlier. Definitely a lot of people haven't seen that, and more people should.

The most obscure movie I've seen is Don's Plum, that controversial banned improvisational movie that Leonardo Dicaprio and Tobey Maguire did as a favor to a friend and then fought to not have distributed.

Yes, people have seen Angel Eyes, but it's barely ever mentioned on the boards, which is why I mentioned it. And The Curse is the one that just came out on video this year, not the Wil Wheaton one. Also, I know you've seen Urbania, but not many have seen it. We're not trying to find movies that NOBODY here has seen, we're talking about movies that not many around here have seen or ones that aren't talked about much. Obviously some people will have seen them.

Boston Public-I know a couple schmoes have seen it...cool English film.

Glory Daze-little seen and never discussed Ben Affleck movie, also with Alyssa Milano.

Totally F***ed Up-Gregg Araki film...some schmoes have pry seen this too.

La Haine-great, gritty French film...I know quite a few schmoes have seen but the public doesn't know about this gem.

I was given Trucks on a promo DVD. Don't remember a damn thing about it...

But I do remember kinda liking Short Time. That's the one with Dabney Coleman, right? Didn't suck.

The Babysitter. Hmm...does something in that movie happen on a lake in a dinghy or something? It's been a while.

And, which Bulletproof? The one with Adam Sandler (which basically did suck) or Gary Busey (unseen by me)?

1. Ah, when Scott Valentine tried to capitalize on his role on "Family Ties" (see also Deadtime Stories). I think I still have My Demon Lover on tape from HBO or something. Not that I'm gonna look for it or anything...

2. Yes! Richard E. Grant and a huge talking boil. Grant reteams with director Bruce Robinson in an effort to surpass their cult fave Withnail & I. Almost succeeded, too.

3. There was a time I tried to become a Ken Russell fan. I love Tommy, but sitting through Crimes of Passion, Altered States, Whore and this dorky goth-horror flick put an end to that.

4. Saw this once. Don't recall too much about it other than the ambiguous directive of the title.

Undisputed...It wasn't very cerebral but as far as prison boxing movies go it was pretty darned good

Penitentiary II...Speaking of prison boxing movies with Leon Issac Kennedy and Mr. T

MeatBalls IV...I missed parts 2 & 3 so I was kinda unclear on why this one starred Corey Feldman and involved water skiing. Every bit as incredibly awful as it sounds...In short, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE:)

The Last Seduction... Linda Fiorentino, Peter Berg and Bill Pullman in the story of a woman who is very low on this list of people you'd like to have pissed off at you

Existenz...Came out about the same time as The Matrix and had some common plot points...Then again they were competely different. Just watch and see what you think

Star Wars...Made by the same guy who did American Graffiti...this movie MUST be seen on drugs. Its got desert midgets with glowing eyes kidnapping robots with british accents and Juliet Prowse's husband dressed up like...I can't even desribe it he's got a ventilator and James Earl Jones' voice and a cape and still manages to be bad ass...It came out in the late 70's its hard to find but worth checking out...

Radioactive Dreams is a big one for me. I see a lot of b-movies, but that one has always stuck out in my mind. 9/10. And everyone else hates it.

The Whole Dam Family and the Dam Dog (1905)

I think that, out of every movie I've seen, is the most likely to be unseen by another schmoe :D.

That is a fantastic film. Anybody who liked Memento should search out Following.

It was good, but a bit cold. I liked Memento better.

Isn't he the skinny, tall horse-human hybrid who won an Oscar earlier this year and stuck his tongue down all the way down Huge Berries' system until it came out of her ass?

Haven't seen him in much, but from what I have seen, he's pretty good as an actor and seemed like an upstanding person/horse at the Oscars.

All About Eve, Rebecca, Spellbound, Imitation of Life, and Arsenic & Old Lace, and Gaslight are some films that are very, very well known, but I hardly see anybody on the boards mention them (but All About Eve, is getting slightly more praise :).
