I really liked this movie. I thought the overall premise and the whole movie in general was very cool. Good acting, too. 8/10

Anyway I was curious as to the general JoBlo opinion on this film.

The only person who kept the movie alive was the amaizing Gabriel Byrne. Otherwise the movie sucked. Check out Arrow's review if you want a true opinion. Or the horror boards.

An MTV version of THE EXORCIST, giving the audience (me) a headache of all the loud sound fx and flashy editing during the whole ride.

It was okay as a drama/horror movie, with good acting by the two leads, Patricia Arquette and Gabriel Byrne, but they've both done much better work. The story line seemed to be a little confusing for me at first until I understood what was going on. <POSSIBLE SPOILER> Part of this might be because stigmata was always supposed to represent the manifestation of Christ's wounds in people during religious ecstasies and for a while in the film, they seemed to be indicating that the stigmata in the main character were orginating for some "unholy" source.
