A thought I had:

A video games site I visit sometimes has a feature that I think is pretty cool....whenever a news item is posted, there is a link beside it that takes you to a forum thread for comments on that item. Maybe something similiar could be done here? When something is posted on the main page, a new thread could be made about it (essentially just copying and pasting the news item into a post) and then a link to the thread posted under it (there is a link there right now that says 'discuss this item on our forums' or something, but that is just a link to the main forum page.)

Whatcha think?

Can just make a post about it if you think it's discuss worthy.

what gaming website badberry?

I like the idea, and had always thought of it, but i know some news things aren't worth a thread. Idk, it might be too much for joblo.com to take.

Voodoo Extreme. The forums there used to be really good, but now the site has been swallowed up and is a part of IGN now :(

It would be some extra work, but not too bad...just have to open a thread, paste in the text, and then create the link. Then again, what do I know?

It seems that it would be much easier to create a thread of your own if you deem a certain news item to be interesting enough. Another forum dedicated to upcoming films would be overkill.

It wouldn't need a new forum...these could just be posted on the existing ones.

We actually do that from time to time with certain, more condusive, movie stories ( http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=2009 ), but for the most part, I don't think it's worth the added time required to create new threads for each and every story, etc..., since they likely wouldn't get much play anyway and just take up space...

I will pass this note on to both of our newsmen though, Mike Sampson and Bob Menard....some of the bigger stories would definitely benefit from this kind of interaction...

Thanks.
